Hi Libby, I don't use my PowerSeller logo because I feel it may make some buyers feel I am a "Pressure Seller". Plus, I don't like to appear to be boastful...

I used it when I first became a powerseller, but I don't use it any more, haven't for over a year, I felt that sales decreased and after reading some of the boards, found that many are uneasy buying from a powerseller so I stopped using it.

I'm mostly a seller (non-Power), but when I do don my Buyer's hat (couple times a week maybe), I have to admit, I don't feel warm and fuzzy when I see a great big PowerSeller Logo. And when I see "Trust me, I'm a Power Seller" my little voice says "So what?!"
I have a great deal of respect for a Power Seller's stamina and organizational abilities, and I know it's HARD to be a Power Seller. But I don't necessarily expect superb service or excellent mechandise just because I see the logo. And I allllllways check feedback, regardless of how high the number is.
I think if I saw a relatively small PS-logo without all the hype, and a well-written description (e.g., not hastily written in all CAPS), I would be favorably impressed. A great big logo with lots of horn-tooting -- Blech!

I am a Power Seller and usually do not use my logo. When I do, it's small and at bottom of listing. I only use it in very competative categories. I think it detracts in some auctions.

Well I am gonna go against the grain on this one guys/gals.... I have been a power seller for a while and have used the logo since the first day I could. I am proud that I can achieve this level and keep it. I have noticed that my sales have increased. I sell a lot of the same items over and over again and I really do think it helps. I think it does give the customers some confidence. I state that I have certain criteria to meet to remain in this level and that I do my best to help them make this a good experience. I also let them know that I am required to have a guarantee..which I did before anyhoo.
So I am one of the Powersellers that feel like that logo helps.
I buy a lot on ebay and there are times where I don't buy from people that have a high feedback and they don't show a powerseller logo...I assume they might not provide a guarantee or abide by some of the criteria for powersellers and that is why ebay hasn't given them the status of powerseller... to be honest I assumed all people who were would be proud to use the logo. So you guys/gals have shed some light on that.
Thanks

Never used the logo on my auctions, and never will. I like to give buyers the impression I'm just a little Mom & Pop operation, and I am!

I am not a powerseller, but have high feedback. I'm considering selling under another account soon because of my high feedback. I'm afraid it will make people NOT want to bid from me thinking I'm doing such quantity or that I can't abide by powerseller rules or whatever.
What does everyone think of people with high feedback who don't use the powerseller logo?
And does it matter to the average Joe or not? Do people who don't sell on ebay even have a clue what a powerseller is?

Jenndiggy -- hate to see you give up such a great FB record to go to another ID! I don't think many bidders would turn away from a seller just because they saw a high FB rating. It's the hype that I often see with (some) PowerSellers that turns me off -- still it doesn't stop me from buying from them when I need something.
All-in-all, the presentation of your listing and the quality of your feedback are the most important things!

If someone has very high feedback, I take a look at it--if they have very few neutrals and the positives are glowing, I just figure they are great at selling and customer service. I recently bought a pair of shoes from someone with over 6,000 feedback. The auction description was short but sufficient, the picture was excellent, and it was SO easy to link to other items he had listed. The box arrived speedily, and I feel like I got just as good service from him as I would from anyone. A careful reading of the feedback will tell you what his customer service is like--no need to shun someone with high feedback just 'cause you think you won't get the personal touch.

Here is one buyer's perspective: I Hate PowerSeller Logos.
First of all, it's too big and makes it take too long to get to the description/photo of the item so I can see if I'm interested in it. (It seems like most PS auctions have the PS logo right at the top where it can't be avoided.) I wouldn't mind it as much if it was less than 1/2" square and was at the very bottom of the auction. (I don't know if PS logo auctions always take longer to load or if it just seems like it as I stare at that big old thing while the page hangs up and I'd rather be looking at a photo of the item for sale.)
Secondly, I'm turned off by people who boast, and the PS logo appears like a boast, to me. So I do AVOID auctions with PS logos -- unless it's something that I just HAVE to have -- then I proceed with caution.

I have a high rating, I guess. But, as a buyer, I tend to shy away from the seller's with logos.. it takes forever for their pics to load, and I feel it slightly cheapens their listing. Only cause I feel it takes away from the "personal" feeling.

I have been a "Power Seller" almost from get go of the program and I have never used, nor would I use the logo - I am turned off by it on other auctions, and I feel most buyers are – I, like some others, prefer to give the customer/buyer a feeling of a personal "Mom and Pop" operation (which in reality we are) and have the customer know they are more than a number with us.
I wouldn't consider using the ugly thing.
I do use the eBay VERIFIED logo to make my customers feel more secure - there isn't really a logo for it, but I merely took the Verified check mark on the feedback page and through PaintShop Pro enlarged it and made it into an insert graphic for our auctions.
