I am concerned about an auction that I recently bid on because I believe that it may
not be legitimate. Unfortunately, forum
rules prohibit that I list the
auction and seller in question. Would
anyone be willing to allow me to email them
my concerns and the necessary information.
I need to know if I have reason to be concerned. I am new to this forum and just want to get some feedback so I don't make a
mistake.

Last night, a thread was posted at the
DVDTalk Website (a forum which focuses on DVD
movies) concerning a seller who was advertising 100 DVD lots for $1-3 each. I
bid on the first lot and my total with shipping is $152 The seller
informed me that she was a liquidator who bought merchandise at mere
pennies on the dollar.
I I checked her e-mail address against IDs at
ebay and she is also advrtising lots of jewelry and electronics. She states that she will only accept Money Orders and Cashiers Checks.
I have a couple of questions:
1) Yahoo hasa buyer protection program which will protect a buyer up to
$250.00. Does anyone know if this actually will work? (I plan to send
payment by certified mail if I do decide to send it)
2) Does anyone know of people who are legitimate liquidators that can
really buy expensive merchandise so cheeply?
3) If you believe this is a scam, could you share your expertise and
reasoning. I would like to be able to make an informed decision before I
do something stupid.
Are any of you also "liquidators" who can buy and sell merchandise for
pennies on the dollar?
Once again, please e-mail me at
[email protected] so that I can give you the appropriate links to the auctions
in question.

Welcome to AW, just joined tonight
I'd proceed very cautiously. If I see the correct seller, that's about 10,000 dvds they are offering for sale and no feedback.

cancel the Bidpay idea, they will hold the buyer responsible for fraudulent cashing of the money order.
