... At least I hope this is fresh! If not, please do not throw rotten veggies at me .
I am so sick of fees. We all are. Rate hikes accompanied by worse policies and declining service. Yuck. Profits are taking a dive on a daily basis as each dot com gets a little more greedy than the last.
My idea is simple -- for those of us who have domain names and websites. Make creative use of this space. Instead of saying, "I am an Ebay seller," expound a bit.
"We sell xyz products at great prices! Please bookmark this site as we may move from auction site to auction site to keep our costs down. By keeping our costs low, we keep our prices low for you!" Provide links to your current auction houses.
Value business cards with your dot com address can be found for only $7 for 250. Include them with your auction wins. If you can afford a magnetic backing, better yet.
* Pass them out at garage sales, post them at businesses in your area, pass some out at work. I've even seen consultants leave random business cards in OfficeMax and Staples. Hmmm...
Just food for thought. If you have any simple ideas for rolling with the fees, please post them here .
