Can any of you help me understand what this means?

I assume it means that Ebay's administration canceled the bidder's bids, not the bidder themselves. Is this right? But I don't know why.

It also says that the bidder is "not a registered user" but they don't have excessive negatives. They do have a couple, one of them in the last month, but that doesn't automatically naru'd does it?

I am little upset. It cut the bid amount in half of what it was.

Oh well, I am off to my son's baseball game right now. Any help in figuring it out will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

When eBay suspends a user they also cancel any bids that user may have current.

Your bidder did something naughty and eBay caught them.

If you look at their feedback you might get some indication of what possibly happened. Do they have recent negatives or neutrals for failing to follow through on a winning bid?

Hope you had fun at the game
They may have become NARU for bid retractions, shilling, or non-payment.
Try not to be disappointed, this is more than likely a bidder that you would not want to do business with!
Hopefully the bidding will make it's way back up!
Good Luck!

They could also be NARU'D For Selliing offenses, many sellers also buy.

They could also be NARUd for no real reason at all, as I was a few years ago.

Remember that "fish in the net" explanation?

It is a real pain though...I had it happen like three week's in row
Like you I went and looked at the feedback for the buyers and none of them had any neg's
I did notice in my case all three had feedback less then 10

This has happend to us several times. I check the person's feedback and it is perfect or nearly perfect but for some unknown reason Ebay suspends the user and cancels their bids.

check their bid history. I did that on our last bidder that was suspended and they had bid on and won thousands of dollars worth of items in the last 30 days.

Just a guess as to how someone with "seemingly" good feedback gets NARU'd. A lot of sellers (myself included) will not leave a negative comment on a non paying bidder, because I am not interested in getting an undeserved retaliatory neg. I DO however, ALWAYS file for credit with ebay. This works a lot better than leaving a neg. He gets 3 sellers filing credit, and its bye-bye to a bidder with "good" feedback. I've seen it happen time and time again. Check out his positive feedbacks, and I'll guarantee the dates from auction end to feedback given are a long way apart.

Some bidders try to make it look like eBay retracted their bid by using "Administrative Cancellation" which is the phrase eBay uses when it cancels a bid.

A user can become NARU if their email address
or phone number becomes invaild, and if they owe ebay money ant their credit card expires.

If your auction had ended and then the user became NARU, they might never pay you.

It cut your current bids in half but it is like that person never bid.

Well, I am home from the game. Thanks for all your responses.

For the heck of it when I have nothing else pressing to do (which will be soon because I can't wait, I am impatient )I will check all these possibilites simply because my curiosity is getting the better of me!!

Thanks!

I had a first the other day A bidder had won 9 auctions for $102, 2 days later they were NARU'D. I figured I'd NPB FVF and relist after sending FVF, I receive $112 from him by Paypal $102 for the items $5 for Shipping and an extra $5 for trouble they caused, stated they bid more then they could pay for when trying to buy inventory for a vintage clothing store.

They also asked if I would please undo the FVF so they could get reinstated. I was more then happy to do so They now buy from me on a weekly business.

i had exactly the same thing happen, with the high bid halved. the bidder had 300+ feedback, 99% positive. luckily, the bidding went back up and ended well over that. maybe yours will too! wouldn't have been happy at all if ebay had done this the day the auction closed

i'm glad to hear some possible explanations, because i wondered about it myself.

Don't forget to file the FVF if your item doesn't sell, then relist it...bummer! It's happened to me as well. I dislike that ebay doesn't clean house and get rid of NARU'd people on ebay and free up the names. Also skews the amount of their customer count too.

I checked on some of the things mentioned here.

In the last 30 days they have won bids on over 500.00 worth of stuff. That doesn't count what they bid on and did not win, there was lots of that also. It also does not include the items like mine that don't show because of the cancelations.

So they are either really well off, or got a little carried away, I don't know which.

However the feedback they have show pretty timely payments. It may like what was stated above. No negs, but to many FVF's filed against them. Who knows?

One of the auctions closed last night for a lower amount than what they had bid it up to and one of the auctions closed with no bids at all because of the cancelation.

Oh well....
