I have generally posted my auctions during daytime hours. Around 10 a.m till 12 am . Pacific standard time. However, my bids are down ~ probably due to long weekend but maybe do to people being outdoors more ? or at work.( I think a lot of people bid at work though!) I have trying to list at 5:00 pacific standard time but find that a very bad time for me to list but could manage to squeeze some in at that time. Is there a better time to put on auctions. I mainly sell books but have been thinking of branching out into cd's or pvc toys ( lots available in our town) Thanks! Suz23 only here!

probably your bids are down because of the approaching holiday weekend. mine are doing okay - ending today - but i've read others saying the same thing you are.

i usually have my auctions end starting at 6:00 pacific coast time. i figure this gives people enough time to get home from work on the west coast, and it's still early enough for everyone else. i've also tried ending around 12-1:00 p.m. on the west coast, and that's worked out well too.

Our most successful auction completion ratios are from listings that end in the evenings. 9:00 p.m. central time endings have been great for us.

Best of luck to you!

I try to list (and thereby end) my auctions at 9:00 pm (Pacific time) on a Sunday. I figure the time is about right for catching last minute bidders no matter what their time zone, and ending on a Sunday gives two full "days off" for those who search the "ending today" items.

Maybe this plan isn't as effective during the summer when people are outdoors on the weekends, but I have this image of people spending winter weekends hunched over their computers, looking for last-minute good stuff on eBay (and sometimes finding my listings).

Kittykittykitty - if you'd ever seen SD LA SF freeway traffic at 6PM you's wonder who's watching the kids. Half the state's on the road at 6.

gray :Half the state's on the road at 6.

I thought the traffic was so slow becouse you were all using your wireless devices to snipe ebay auctions on the way home.

grayfurey,

native of l.a.. the 101 and 405 are two reasons why i left . you can always tell when someone's from out of town because they ask how many miles away something is, rather than how long it'll take to get there. good point; think i'll start listing at 7:00 p.m, which is still early enough for the east coasters.

lol, i'm not at all sure anyone ever actually recovers.
