I was spending about 1200$ a month on ebay.
Ebay just sent me a notice:
Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX,
We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended due to the
violation of our site policy below:
Previously suspended user - Account belonging to a previously suspended user.
Our records indicate that your account is associated with the following Previously
Suspended account(s):
XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are prohibited from
using eBay in any way. This includes the registering of a new account.
Please note this suspension does not relieve you of your agreed-upon obligations to
pay any fees you may owe to eBay.
Respectfully,
Safeharbor Department,
eBay Inc
The ID they gave is not us! IT is the first part of an email address we own BUT not us!
What records?
I had some problems, threats and warnings from another ebayer who auctioned off the same as I, I know it was him behind this.
I emailed ebay saying, this is not us etc.. no responce! How can they do this? who do you speak to? How can something like this get sleared up when nobiody responds and I have no phone number? I need to find out some details.. this is too fishy.....
Write them and explain. If possible, open a new account under a different email. If I were innocent, this is exactly what I would do. As far as telephone help, I have never figured out how to get in touch with a real person. You bring the balls and I'll bring the bat!!

I wouldn't open an account under another name as suggested until you try to work it out with ebay. That however may not be allowable since ebay doesn't listen and could care less about it sellers. They love to kick the sellers around.
I would give it a week or two and see what happens before you open another account if you are thinking of doing so. Otherwise you are going to look guilty if you get caught.
I would write if you can't get anything done via E-mail.
eBay Inc.
2145 Hamilton Avenue
San Jose, CA 95125
408-558-7400
I would also look for other places to sell. Over the last year or two I have been putting my eggs in a few baskets and taking them out of Ebay. Ebay is getting to big to much like Hilter. I plan to use them and lose them. You may want to think of them same.
If you pay that much in fees you could make a good website with that and have people coming to visit you pages by paying for hits in the search engines instead of ebay fees.

WOW! I have a family on auctionwatch!
Thanks for all the information so far, I will use it the best I can!
This seems to be an attack by my evil twin brother. I have been going back and forth with ebay on an issue with the Autionwatch liks as well - looks as if my evil twin has not only policed my auctions, he has been emailing ebay as well - look at my other post on notice from ebay thred.
What shocks me the MOST is ebay will say GOODBYE to one person who spends 25K a year!
traceyg
I do have a web site! put a dot com after my auctionwatch ID - My site is very complex.
I can't sell off my site, I only use it as a ref.....
My items are estate issued and limited.... etc..
thanks for the info! the more the better, When I win this round I can help the next person.......

I was suspended back in January for the same thing, one was from an account that belonged to family, and another from 1998 that ebay knew full well was mine. It took until about 3 weeks ago for me to be reinstated. If you make your living from ebay, then you know how devastating it can be.
Don't count on anyone else to help you, and don't expect ebay to get back with you anytime in the near future. There should be someone that is assigned to you from support, if you put there name in the subject line of your email, you should hear something back.
Do NOT register another account, I know that you really want back on, but if you are caught it will ruin any chance you may have of being reinstated.
You obviously did something to draw attention to yourself. I was fighting an ebay fraud claim, I was pretty much told too bad, so sad and to quit emailing. I sent one last email at 3:00 am, an hour later my auctions were yanked and I was suspended. Good luck to you, and I hope it works out.

This ate up an entire day.....
I have made a few calls from the list provided and they do work! I would say to keep these number incase of FIRE. I also emailed a long letter to a few known ebay address and took a guess on a few more as in meg@ so now the ball is rolling.
Of course, if its a family members fault I will have them help me with this issue, BUT, I know it came from a competitor of mine, I was emailed prior with a warning. In any case, I have been offered to use 3 different accounts from good friends and will use them if need be. I will most likely loose 2 to 5K this week alone! yes, this hurts bad! I gave in and put trust in them neglecting other avenues.
Like haveing a MADE, if shes gone, who cleans? (just an eg)
I will fight this daily and hire a Lawyer if It goes that far. I know ebay has more power, but at least I can have comunication.
So, my Lawyer will be 5K - if their lawyers step in, they spend 50K -plus, they loose my 25K a year in biz,,,,, anyone get this???????????? why not email me and say what the ######### we did!?
Also, would you care to go to eBay chat boards and voice your situation there? Maybe it will get someone's attention if eBay does not respond through emails?

I wish they would call.....
I have worked very hard to come to some sort of end to this situation. I must have sent out 4 emails today with a BCC to 5 other ebay.com people. I have had one respond so far. as mentioned, they have linked me to another suspended user and they do not say why or how, although I know my evil twin had a hand in this. They do not give any answers, the BEST i have so far is
"Previously suspended users may not use, directly or indirectly any
portion of the eBay system, either as themselves or in an agency
agreement with another eBay user.
To protect the integrity of our trading rules and procedures, eBay does
not permit suspended users to register with eBay or use eBay's services
under any name. eBay may extend that prohibition to new accounts opened
in the same household of a suspended user, or other associates of a
suspended user.
Due to the nature of the suspension, your account is not eligible for
reinstatement."
WHAT NATURE!? What could anyone in my family have done to get this type of treatment? The kicker is I am begging to give them my money! begging! what a racket!
They give me no reason (other than a copy and paste of a rule) and no alternative.
Now, I ask you... if you got nowhere with ebay, nowhere .... no results no concrete answers - nothing - and they say, you can't rejoin. Should I take my 2 to 5K a week loss and say AH so what, or should I go as far as I can (COURTS) and then if I still lose shug my shoulders, OR do I rejoin with a new ID?
I need more contact names, numbers and emails.... the information so far has been great and I will help the same if this happens to any AWer.

Thank you very much.. The more I poke around the more I find this is nothing new at all. The information you provided is very useful as all the info on this thred.
I'm very sorry to hear your delima. The sad thing is that it can happen to anyone at anytime whether they do something wrong or not.
Yahoo is the next best place to ebay. The other auction sites I've seen just doesn't have much traffic. I've actually been making as much on yahoo as ebay, only difference is the fees are cheaper on yahoo.
If you do get a new id for ebay, you'll have to not only use another email account, but another credit card as well. Make sure the email address is not even remotely similar to the one you were using.
oh yeah, do a chargeback on the past month's listing and fv fees. they won't let you list, they shouldn't get those fees.
I'm guessing you sell art, but what all do you sell? Is it just art or do you sell other stuff too?
Art is the only thing we auction, and we are talking estate here - rarely I have a house cleaning sale. Amazon seems to me "books". yahoo, the toys go, MSN "stamps" - I listed on Yahoo for months when it was free, never sold any art. I listed on Amazon for Months, sold one underpriced piece and got no feedback. MSN - nada. There was a person to person site (I forget) they sold art as well and I did sell some, they closed or merged. ebay is for collectors. We do work with galleries.
I do have a couple friends who said I can use their accounts and I can open a new one with a new email, CC, name, etc.... and I am sure ebay knows we would if this cannot be resolved. So, why won't they discuss this? at the very least say what we did, or a family member did. I have many family members in this area, one with the same name as I in a different town. Our name must be tagged! A friend asked "does this mean if your uncle joins he can be kicked off ebay too?"
I said - the way I see it so far "yes"
SO, maybe I can get into some kind of witness protection program, or, just drop my family name, get a new one and continue to do business.
Problem is, we have relied on ebay, we devoted too much time on ebay and now we are stuck - for at least the next 4 -6 months, that is what it will take to find more avenues. and even then, look at the income we lost...... and for what?????? that's what we are looking into now. stay tuned - I am a fighter!
You might want to consider taking the rest of this private as there may be folks from eBay or possibly the person/entity who started this hanging around here lurking.
I only say this because you've pretty well identified yourself from your web site.
We'll continue to banty about the possibilities but I would caution against sharing any plans you may have...
All ready a thought. I was thinking the same might have happened with the link banner discussion and could be one of the problems. I am on the trail and will stay tuned leaving out details.
