While on vacation this weekend I happened to see part of a BBC program on PBS. It was called "Bargain Hunt". The gimmick was that two couples competed to make the best deals they could in buying antiques at a flea market of some kind. The items were then put up for auction. The winning team was the one that made the most profit. On this episode, it was more like the team that LOST the least!
I really couldn't place the accents and thought it was Australian most of the way through, but it was Bristol. A smarmy but likeable host also gave antiques tidbits. For the most part the contestants didn't do so well because the flea market prices were too close to auction values. It was fun and funny to see people doing on a game show pretty much what a lot of us do for our ebay businesses!

OH,HOW I LOVE THIS PROGGY.
SINCE MY BIKE ACCIDENT IT IS ONE OF THE
FEW AMUSING THINGS TO WATCH ON THE BEEB.
THEY ALMOST NEVER MAKE A PROFIT AND NEVER TAKE THE ADVICE GIVEN.
IN FACT MUCH LIKE EBAY.
THEY DONT PAY YOU BUT YOU GET TO SPEND THEIR MONEY FOR ONE HOUR.

I caught one episode of that show...One couple lost & one couple actually made $$...Ok, it was like a pound or some minute amount like that....It was very amusing to watch....
BIGBRIANK3...What is the name of the program??....If I know the name I can have my Tivo find it and record it for me....Now that the regular TV season has ended, I'm looking for new show to fill my time!....Thanx!

YES ITS CALLED BARGAIN HUNT.
ITS NOT ON AT THE MOMENT.
ITS ON AT 11.00 OR 11.30 IN THE MORNING.
UK THAT IS.
THEY HAVE DONE 3 OR 4 RUNS WITH ABOUT 20
EPISODES IN EACH.
THEY HAD A GRAND FINAL AFTER ONE SERIES.
WITH THE 2 BIGGEST MONEY WINNERS BACK
TO BATTLE IT OUT.
WITH MORE MONEY.
IT IS COMING BACK BUT WHEN I DONT KNOW.

Thanx skip555 & BIGBRIANK3....I must have seen it on PBS...will let Tivo do a search to find it...would be great if I caught the middle of the season & got to see the grand final you described...
