I have had 2 auctions end today with Buy It Now. I know I should feel wonderful, but now I have doubts..."I wonder how much it would have gone for"...etc. I like the feature (I just started using it) because one of the items was a relist that didn't sell the last time around and now sold for more than the original list price! I don't use it for items that I have no clue what they're worth, but now I'm thinking maybe I should use it more often....I know as a buyer I have used it and loved it. What do you think...are my worries unjustified and I should just be happy to have the auction over? Have you had better luck selling with this feature?

I usually check out what the item had previously sold for. I had several BIN this weekend and virtually no bids on my other items, so I liked BIN this week.
I think the bottom line would be what did you pay and are you satisfied with what you received. I too, think after an item closes very quickly ~ did I make a mistake ? I think some buyers really want an item and don't want to be outbid at the last minute so are willing to pay more for BIN.

BUY it now work because many Dont like to wait till the end watch for getting out bid wrestleing with snipers and all.

Look at it this way it may have auctioned for more but chances are the same buyer might have been your only bid and you would have made less.

Either way you have turned over that inventory and now can list something different and you wont pay listing fees the auction will pay for its self.

We use BIN on items that we have many of and others sellers have listed for more $$. Our BUY IT NOW price is the same as opening bid, allowing the buyer to know that we're not trying to squeeze every last red cent of of the item. BIN is a nice option under certain circumstances, so it shouldn't be free too much longer........

If you have a good idea of what the "hammer price" range is for your item, and you're not hung up on getting the absolute max, seems like BIN is a great option. I use it when I want to turn something over quickly that I can easily research completed auction prices on.

However! I did learn my lesson about using it for something I knew nothing about. Put an item up with a $20 BIN price, it got bought very quickly, and afterward I received a message from another eBayer who was crushed because he didn't get to bid on it -- said it was easily worth $200. Talk about crushed! I was but a grease spot on the road of life when I found that out (and he wasn't blowing smoke -- I've verified his opinion on the item).
