Hi everyone,

I used to do my photo editing on MSPhotoEditor. Even once I started to do my editing with my Camedia software, I liked photoeditor because it turned my 50kb pics into 20kb pics with very little degradation of the image (same pixels).

My new computer didn't come with PhotoEditor, and the MS product it has now has a lot of bells and whistles, but still leaves my pics at about 50kb. At the moment, I only have 5MB of storage space at my ISP.

First question: Is there anything out there free that will compress my pics?

Second question: In Camedia, is there a way to put two pics side by side, then save them as one? I know how to cut a portion of a pic out and paste it to another, but that's not what I want to do. Or, can someone tell me the html for putting two pics side by side on eBay? I thought I had this in my notes, but when I tried it, it didn't work.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You can use www.myimager.com to compress your pics. Go to "optimize", and then "huffman".

To put to pics side by side, use this format...
<img src="http://xxxxxxx/yyyyyyy.jpg"><img src="http://xxxxxxx/yyyyyyy.jpg">

IrfanView32 (free) is pretty good for compressing JPGs.

Nonags has a good selection of free editors.

Many editors let you adjust the amount of JPG compression. Check your editor's Preferences.

Xat.com - jepg optimizer. The Lite version is a free download and will reduce your images about 80 to 85% with no noticeable loss in quality for auction listings.

Look at my closed auctions for Lot of 6 or 12 pipes on eBay under this same ID for samples of images. Usually 13 to 20K in size after compression with very good detail if I took the time to get a quality picture to begin with.

I use a Sony, run the images thru a Photoshop 2.0 Lite program that came free with something years ago for cropping and to juice up the contrast, bounce them into the xat program for compression and I'm ready to list. The pictures look as good or better than the image I started with.
