I went Thur. That's when about a third of them start around here. So far no big buys but at one sale there were two couples owner and houseguests sitting in lawn chairs and he was showing his guest a japanese sword. He was reluctant to allow me to look at it as it was not for sale and he said it is very very dangerous. I took a Damascus folder out of my pocket and shaved a big patch on my arm bare and explained I know sharp so he was convinced to allow me to handle it. I went over on the grass and looked at it and it was near perfect with some marks where it had been actually used against other swords. It was about 3 times as heavy and half again as long as the practice swords friends have shown me. I did like I have seen my friend do and drew it and slashed right moving forward and came back across head high in a double figure eight and broke my wrist and gave it that flip before sheathing it. With my friends sword it felt silly. With this thing it was a natural motion and went blurring fast although I had not intended to do that. It was almost like the sword pulled your hand it was so easy. It wants to move. The owner seemed pleased I tried and corrected how I had started without making fun of me. A very nice gentleman. He said the weapon was over 600 years old and all original except the guard thing - I forget what he called it was broken and recast in the 16th century of our era. It was a privilage to handle something that you would usually only see in a Museam case. With that in hand you felt like you could hack your way through anything. I sure feel sory for the guy who breaks into his house in the night.

I went to a sale in a church basement and found a really unique item. A Hamilton Beach vibrator, circa 1902, complete with attachments. At only $5, it was a steal ... and a hilarious addition to my day.

Went to pay and found out it was 1/2 price time, so I only paid $2.50.

Came running right home, checked out completed auctions, holding my breath.

Oh - did I mention it is electric and comes with an extension cord in the case.

Top bid for this wonderful item ...

$1.99

Oh, well, I wonder which of my brothers will get it this Christmas as a gag gift?

Couldn't hit the yard sales, busy selling a storeage shed full of stuff (I bought cheap)at the swap meet. At first, I was disappointed in what I had bought, but after two weekends at the swap meet (about 16 hours) and some listings on Ebay, I have doubled my money, and not made a dent in the "inventory" I acquired! Tons of toys, do dahs, what nots and widgets. Lookout Ebay here I come!

Listed Sunday night, they are at $31.00 already and 5 days to go!

$31 for a rubiks cube?? man...and I threw mine away from when I was a kid lol.

I had stuff when I was a kid that i'm seeing on ebay going for big bucks, but mine would've been in nm/m condition compared to these on ebay. I didn't play much with much of the stuff and had them all on shelves. My ex got to keep them all in the divorce

I've been seeing these things my ex had given me that I threw out going for money too. I still don't understand why anyone would pay hundreds of dollars for stuff like a purse or other things. I literally threw them in the garbage....a big dumpster. Oh well.

Rubik's Cube....when spelled properly you'll find a lot more than three of them on auction at present.

That's why it pays to search for misspellings...some good deals to be found!
