I paid $90 in bid and shipping by BillPoint, only to have the item arrive and be not at all what was described. I sent the seller a nice note saying I wanted only a refund on the item cost, and he sent a rather nasty 'too bad' reply. His description said the item 'SELLS NEW for over $300'. While it's true that there is an item of the same name and model that NOW sells new for over $300, the one I received is over 10 years old and bears no resemblence to the current product. Additionally, it did not sell for anywhere near $300 ten years ago when it was actually 'new'. It was on his 'new' selling price that I based my bid, feeling that questions were not necessary, since the older item never sold for that price. My email to him had said the item was in 'new condition', which he used against me in his nasty note. I really thought he had made an honest mistake, but now I think he intended to defraud. He claims I could resell it to get my money back, but I would never list an item with such a deception. BillPoint says I have to contact my credit card company to dispute the payment. BTW, his phone registered with ebay is defunct. I notified the proper authorities and am now waiting to see what develops from that. Unfortunately this seems to be a nasty person. So much for 300+ pos FB and no negs. Any advice is much appreciated.

It appears that what you have been told what to do is correct.
Chalk this one up to a learning experience that you should always ask questions, and never assume a seller is telling you the truth about how much an item is really worth.
