I'm going to try and take a little vacation from the boards and see how much more productive I can get. You know, you swear you're only going to check in for 15 minutes to see what's new and, before you know it, an hour has gone by and the kid is getting up or it's time to cook dinner and there goes any real auction work.

So, this should be my last post for awhile. And I won't be checking in to see what's up during my "message board vacation." I've often wondered how much more work I might get done if I wasn't reading and posting so often.

I'm going to try and stay off the boards (that includes lurking) for the rest of the month. I'll come back next month to let you know how I did. And I promise to be honest.

So, take care all! It's been nice!

BJG--
I for one will miss your input but I wish you lots of productive work while you are away.

I know I spend too much time here too, but I enjoy it anyway. :0)

Hello!

I know I spend way too much time here (mostly just a lurker. but some of the information is invaluable!

I wouldn't miss one day. I feel like it's reading the trade paper of our industry.

No, sorry but that is not acceptable.

You may take any five out of seven days off each week for work but you must spend at least 3 hours per day of the remaining two days here.

We try to be compassionate and provide all possible flexability to meet personal emergencies but your explaination is not sufficient to have us shift that much additional work on to the remaining users.

Please plan your schedule accordingly.

Hi BJGrolle. Yes, I've been spending too much time here and I need to get off my butt (which is definitely growing in size) and get some work done outside.

This place is waaay too addictive. We'll see you next month.

I'm still not exactly sure what I'm doing here. Does anyone know?

I would guess most members spend more time with the TV than on this board.

Of course. But then again, this is a non-scientific poll (of what's known as a "self-selecting sample"

It's indeed a dilemma, too, as you do pick up a lot of very useful information, but at a real cost in time.

This isn't TV? You mean I spend all day and night on this screen and it isn't even TV? It sure reads like fiction and news and...
Oh, that's right, forgot I dropped the cable 'cause I was never on THAT screen !

I read (salon/guttenburg/medieval email list archives/photonet/google's deja.com/Dressage unltd), shop ebay, list, answer email, research, write scripts/project treatments/equp lists, grocery lists, do my taxes (quarterly - ack, got to rehire an accountant!), update my database on customers/horse/video/ebay, email/mail letters to friends and clients, make invoices and live chat with some friends. Can you say multitask?
Of course, not every day or all of those, but a mishmash. I keep a clockwork schedule so I can cram in riding/media and volunteer work into the week. Also I don't have kids, so it's bogus to think I could do that if I did!
I wanted to say...
I also keep an "ebay howto" notebook up on ureach.com that I can access from any workstation and use when I can't figure something out. Tips and tricks learned here.
I think some of yours are definitely in there BJGrolle.
Thanks! Come back soon.

BJGrolle,

Enjoy your vacation, but please do not stay away too long ... you will be missed.

I, too, am guilty of spending too much time here but it is so infomative I cannot think of anywhere else I would rather be

Oh, when I am feeling low, I do go to drdrew.com and become an "expert" there. Where were those boards when we were growing up? Use caution going there - you will be shocked at some of the posts!

TTYL!

I've actually spent less time here in the past few months. Activity seems down, esp. in other auction forums. Just an observation, don't know if it is true or not.

I'm here everyday. As ziggydog said this is like reading our trade paper. Almost everything I know about eBay I learned here. I cannot afford to stay away & don't want to anyway.
Besides jerry12 might post & I sure don't want to miss that.

I try to check in daily to at least see what latest hot issue is being cussed or discussed.

And I'd, too, be distraught to miss a jerry12 thread.
