Just got an email from a British buyer that his package just arrived 28 days after it was sent Air Mail. I don't know who's postal service screwed up, but this is WAY to long. (we have been in contact, and we both where beginning to think it might not show up.)

Packages to the U.K. usually take 7 days to be delivered. USUALLY...

A few month's back I sent an air mail package to a winning eBay customer in the U.K. First package lost. Replaced at my expense. Second one lost. I told customer I was a bit sceptical and found if very hard to believe that I was being told the truth. Customer swore they were being truthful and advised me that they were going to fil an insureance claim through eBay for non-receipt of the item they ordered and din't receive from us. I didn't want the trouble and sent out a 3rd at my expense. This time I insured the package and required a signature and return receipt. I'll be damn if the stupid package didn't take two weeks to deliver. Long story short, the transaction hit me for a $100.00+ loss and neither the buyer or myself were very happy about the outcome of the transaction.

Sometimes you just can't win...

Many times airmail goes on commercial airliners on a space available basis. Just because you mailed it one day, doesn't necessarily mean that it is on its way. Holiday times are the worst when air traffic is heavy. Customs can also delay the receipt of a package.

There is also the possibility it got held up in customs. Sent a book to Spain by air awhile back, didn't make it for almost that long. Asked the PO what could be up, customs was their response.

6 or 7 days seems normal, but this one took 28. The buyer was very nice in his email when he got it, as he could see the postmark and knew I had mailed it promptly, but he *had* been getting ansy.

Possibly 2 reasons.

One mentioned CUSTOMS

Other is that there is a Postal Strike in certain parts of the country. Its not an official one and that may have some bearing on the matter.

My mom over there told me that the sun finally came out after months of rain.So the postal employees went out on strike so they could take a few days off and enjoy the sun while it lasts.

Here is a better one and you think 28 days is bad.My wife sent some photos to my grandmother over there.

Well we got them retunred to us undeliverable a week ago.

Only thing is we sent them in October of last year and they are just getting back to us.

So go figure

Adrian
