Just had my very 1st Buy-It-Now adventure.
Had a good antiquarian book that I started last night. I had checked the past auctions history & saw that the range in the last month for books similar or identical to mine went from about $110 to a high of $165 -- but many of them only had 1 bidder, so I didn't see too much chance of having a sniping war on mine.
So I tried something different, started it at $145 with a Buy-It-Now of $200 -- and it sold around noon today! Customer already requesting Billpoint payment, and though their bidding history isn't large, their track record for paying looks great, and they have successfully bought & paid for other items in that price range.
Kind of neat, I feel good to have ended higher than previous auctions, and I also think that if I had used a hidden reserve it would likely not have worked as well.
