I bid on a comforter on May 7 which I paid for and to date have not recieved. I sent payment out on May 8.Seller did not cash check till May 19. I am copying and pasting what seller has emailed me.

I received payment on Saturday and will ship it today or tomorrow.

After another 10 days. She emails me.
Hello!
I am sorry. Have you received your comforter yet? I don't know
which day I shipped this, but if it was shipped parcel post after the
21st, it should arrive in 7-10 days after that. If it is not there
by June 1st, I will see where my receipts are. Thank you very much!

Unfortunately, I can't be responsible for the Post office. I expect
that you are extremely frustrated and maybe angry. I sure was a few
weeks ago when the $60 in videos I bought online had been lost in the
mail and I had not requested insurance! I was also frustrated at
myself.
I am currently very angry at the post office. I have mailed about 25
comforter sets without mishap and then in the last few weeks THREE
have been lost. I think I am about to get several negative feedbacks
and I don't think I did anything wrong....
If you requested insurance before I shipped this, please draw this to
my attention. Thank you so much and I hope it still shows up. If it
was damaged, I did put my address on the inside of the package as
well so hopefully it will come back and then I will let you know
right away!
Thank you for your patience and understanding in this difficult
situation...
I did not request insurance. She gave me a total and that is what I paid. So what do I do now? Or am I out of 50 dollar? Thanks for all your thoughts on this.

Ask her to file a missing package report with her post office. I'm not sure if you have to wait 30 days or if they will let her do it now. If she is willing to file this she is more than likely being honest and at least it might show up. Sometimes the post office can take forever and you might be pleasantly surprised to get your item. :0)
Good luck anyway.
Edited to add that if it was mailed around the 21st it could still show up any day. There was a holiday weekend in there too and that slowed things down. :0)

The turnaround time on a check that a seller holds isn't so bad.
If she sent it.
It sounds like she is hedging and didn't send it out until after Memorial day.
I read in another thread that a seller is responsible for merchandise, but can't find it in the search, so maybe that person will post again.
If you haven't exchanged negatives, hold off.
I would ask her to look in her receipts and tell me if she has a copy she can fax or mail to you to prove she has sent it.
Tell her if you don't get a refund or a comforter by a certain date that you will have no choice but to report this as mail fraud.
Then do it.
Email safeharbor and timesensitive and your state atty general as well as the fraud division of the USPS.
Best of luck

doesn't know when she received payment.
Not sure when she shipped it.
Uncertain how she shipped it.
doesn't know whether it was insured.
Doesn't have her records handy...
Sounds like she's off her meds. Boy I'd never buy anything from her.

I'd give the package more time to arrive. Ebay sellers do have other stuff going on in their lives and can get off track, though it does sound like she's a little disorganized right now.
She sounds honest to me. Plus if someone were trying to pull a scam on eBay it probably wouldn't be with comforters.

She sounds honest to me, too. A bit preoccupied, which stands to reason if her child is sick. Give it a little more time. Sometimes life gets in the way of eBay ...

Well I emailed her for a copy of the receipt. Which I am copying and pasting, what I sent her.
Hello,
Could you please email me a copy of the reciept from the post office showing that it was sent. I know that since I am a seller at times also. The post office gives you a reciept. I know that it does not show the address where it was sent to but it does show the zip code on it. Or if you cannot email me a copy, if you could mail it to me.
I am not one to give negative feedback. I have been a seller and a buyer on Ebay both and have never given anyone bad feedback. I am a reasonable person. But in this instance I feel that I will have no choice but to do that. I really don't want to do that. If you cannot show me a reciept than I expect a refund or a comforter.
xxxxx
She never responded. So, I can only assume I have been ripped off. She states that the post office lost three packages. And that she expects to get several negatives. It seems to me she never sent them out. I don't believe that she set out to rip me off. I just think something happened. And she can't afford or whatever to send them out. She does have 200 feedback all positive. And she is still selling the same comforter set that I bid on.

Sounds just like the seller who ripped me off and resold the item. I bought it on yahoo and after I paid she resold it on ebay. She wouldn't happen to be from N.J. would she???

Regarding the postal receipt .. none of the post offices around here give the kind of receipt you mention. Even the 'big' one in 'town' gives hand-written receipts. The only thing I would have to show a customer would be delivery confirmation.
My guess is that she sent it late and it will arrive soon. I'd wait .. but we each have to decide what we want to do for ourelves.

If my memory serves me correct. When I went to the post office, they gave me a reciept that shows the total paid with the zip code I was shipping to on it. No she wasn't from New Jersey.

My PO doesn't give receipts with zip codes - only cash receipts to show what you paid. Only time I get a real receipt is with delivery confirmation or insured mail!

huh. this is interesting. my p.o. gives a receipt with date, time, city, state and zip code, like sideslam's does. i always assumed all the post offices do this.
sideslam,
i suppose she could have mailed it to you and hasn't replied because she expects it'll arrive any day, but it sure is lousy customer relations to not email you back and say so. and if that isn't the case, hmm, the fact that she's selling another one like it, hmmmm ...

I get a real receipt, but just cost per package, no zip codes. No matter whether it's priority or media, just total per box.
