New PayPal Privacy Policy

To provide you with more detailed information about how PayPal safeguards your information and to comply with new federal privacy guidelines that apply to financial institutions such as PayPal, we are updating the PayPal Privacy Policy as of June 30, 2001. Withdrawal Requirements for New Accounts Only
Notice Date: June 8, 2001
Effective Date: June 29, 2001
Effective 6/29/2001, new PayPal accounts (which have been in the system two months or less) will be required to complete additional authentication steps (such as bank account or credit card verification) in order to withdraw more than $1,000 per month during the first two months of membership. This requirement will automatically be lifted two months after the account opening date, and applies to all accounts opened after 4/29/2001.
