Ok everyone. Share some of your best finds ever!
Since I collect cartoon glasses, as you can tell by my name, I will start with my cartoon glass finds. I think my best find is a rare Little LuLu character glass of Wilur Von Snobbe. I paid $10...this glass goes for $75-$80 at auctions. And I found this on Ebay! The seller had the title spelled horrbily and placed it in a bad category. Another great glass I found was a Universal Studios glass of The Creature From The Black Lagoon. This glass usually goes for $45 and I found it for $4 in an antique mall. I also got two Figment the Dragon (1980's Disney Epcot Character) glasses from a consignment for 75 cents each. These are hard to find and go for $40-$50 each.
As far as my other collectible items go, my great finds are too many to mention. I did find a complete Milton Bradley Which Witch board game for 50 cents. Complete ones bring in over $100 sometimes. I got a Smurfs record player for $5 at a flea market and sold it for $54 on Ebay. I picked up a cobalt blue vase with a Biblical verse on it for ten cents at a garage sale. I placed it in the category "Religious Collectibles" and got $18 for it. I just sold the complete board game called Video Village from 1960 for $35 with Buy It Now. I paid $2 at a garage sale. My great finds could go on and on. Although I have never had a HUGE money maker, I can handle multiple $10-$40 profits.

Cartoon glasses!? Ack! I wish I would have read your post yesterday, I went to a sale yesterday that had about 30-40 cartoon glasses for 25 cents each.

I purchased a Terri Lee Doll at a Garage sale for $1.00 a few years back..unfortunately I was not doing e-Bay yet and sold her for $200.00...still an awesome profit (they go on ebay for $400-$500).
Also bought a tacky tapestry of a belly dancer at a thrift shop for $3.00...sold on eBay for $180.00....I JUST LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS
Is your glass Tweety and Sylvester on a tree limb? If so, it isn't worth much at all unfortunatly. It'd be hard to get a buck for it on Ebay. Sorry!
AntiqueParrot:
Pick those babies up! But usually the cartoon glasses at garage sales are the common ones...Smurfs, Flintstone Kids, Chipmonks, etc. These don't interest me at all. But you never know what's in the group of glasses. Hey, if some are common you can use them or even throw them away for a quarter apiece.

Stopped by the second day of a local moving sale... There was a dirty, grubby, cob-webby box sitting under a table. I took a peak and it was full of plastic model horses. I asked the guy what he wanted for the entire box - $10.00. I knew I could triple my money from what I could see on the top so I paid him and loaded it into my truck (outside in the bed - didn't want that dirty thing in the cab!). When I got home, I dumped it on the back patio until I had a chance to turn the hose on them. Well, a week later I finally got to it.... at the bottom of that box was one of the rarest horses that Breyer ever made. I sold it on eBay for $2,200.00!
I really felt a twinge of guilt about that one. Went back to the house (this was three weeks later) and was gonna give the guy some more money - they really looked like they could use it. And the house was vacant...

MK, what was that model horse?
I used to have a HUGE collection growing up. Of course, when I got older, I thought I was "too old" for model horses and gave them all away (YIKES!!!).
Those were the days that the breyers were not modeled after horses of the day, but rather by breed or color.

Morning, kidsfeet...
It was the Copenhagen five-gaiter (kind of a speckled blue and white color). It was made in the 60s and wasn't at all popular because of the color - only about 30 of that color/model are known to still exist. That was in the days when Breyer horses were only kid's toys!
