Bidpay charges both the seller AND the buyer -- the buyer has to pay a $5 fee for a money order. Based on this high charge to the buyer I am surprised that they are still going - as a buyer I personally will not use Bidpay.
Paypal charges the seller but the convenience factor is worth it and I have been very happy with Paypal -- I know they had some teething problems during the early stages but Paypal really seems to have it together now and I do not give recommendations lightly.

Q. Is there a fee to register or to use your services as a seller ?
A. No, there is absolutely no fee for sellers.

Frankly, I think $5.00 is a rip-off, however, from what I've read on this board, international customers are socked pretty hard when they try to get a bank check or MO in U.S. funds in their country. Bidpay is a bargain for them.

I feel bad that it costs the buyer $5.00, I never ask for Bidpay because of that. I thought that International money orders for Canadians was less than that. Am I wrong?

BidPay does not charge the seller. Dunno where you got that misinformation, snipekiller.
I just had a problem with a BidPay payment. They were paid by my buyer for Priority Mail...but failed to send it in a timely fashion. When informed of this, BidPay immediately credited my buyer's CC for her extra postage payment.
Not bad. And certainly better service than PayPal apparently provides. So far, so good.

Bidpay is a bargain for many international buyers. If they don't use bidpay, they usually send cash, which I discourage. Overall it has worked great for me and you don't have to sign up with them if you don't want to. I did register as a seller when a buyer entered my address wrong. They use your registered address if they have, that way I know it is going to the right address.
