Ok guys. Where does it say that PayPal only takes the 2.2% off of transactions $15.00 and under? I just had someone pay for an auction using PayPal, (note: I am waiting for my other transactions to clear to my bank to close my account and wanted to test out the $15.00 and under scenario) The gross amount of the final price including s/h was $36.84. 2.2% of that is $.81 and add the $.30 fee and that comes to $1.11 exactly what they took off. So where is the $15.00 and under price they are only supposed to take the 2.2% out of? I am really confused here. PayPaldamon? Anyone?

That is the new policy that will go into effect on June 29.
Right now there is only the 30 cent charge for payments under $15.00. After June 29, it'll be the 30 cents PLUS the 2.2%, regardless of the payment amount. Sucks for sellers like me with low profit margins.
(Edited for date typo)

Thanks netfish. So the only change is that right now, $15.00 and under (total) until June 29th gets charged the $.30. After that date, it all gets hit, right? OK!
petertdavis> Perhaps you misunderstood the post. I had read on the boards somewhere, that PayPal would only charge the 2.2% + $.30 for transactions $15.00 and under not those over that amount, so that is why I tested it out. (I thought maybe PapPal considered amounts of $15.00 and under nuisance amounts and they could not get enough fees out of them to make it worth their while, encouraging people to sell higher end products) I too am a small seller and the hits on fees are getting out of hand for me. For others, if it works for them, then wonderful.

$36.84 is more than $15.00
Also, when you buy something through mail order with your CC, the CC company charges the merchant a percentage based on the TOTAL CC charge. So why do you have a problem when paypal does the same, "including s/h"?
Paypal may have its problems, but there's no point in making them up! Some people will go to great lengths to dis PP, even to making themselves seem, well, you know...
