Hi All- My Grandmother wants me to sell two antique Cast Iron Stoves for her... They are huga and weigh a ton. How in the world can I ship them? Has anyone had any expierience in this? She really needs the money, but I am at a loss as to how to do it. I guess I could just go local, but I'd be shutting out many bidders that way. I do want her to get the best possible price..

The other thing you can do is make the
BUYER responsible for shipping or pickup, and
that it has to occur within a set time limit
(like 30 days). Has worked for us for large
items like cars. Good luck!

Wow, didn't know it worked that way. The company I work for has an old printer that is broken, but they go for a couple hundred still (even broken)... I think they are going to throw it away. Would it be profitable for me to haul it home and post it for auction, stating that winning bidder is reponsible for pickup?
I would just ship it but it's pretty heavy, probably weighs 100 lbs.

100 pounds is not a lot to ship. I just sold a transmission on eBay to a buyer in CA. Shipping by FedEx was 65.00 for 140lbs. Not undoable and he got a good buy on the trans.

Shipped a cast iron Victorian heater via UPS and they broke leg off. Now we are trying to get claim paid. Won't use them again.
