I had a bidder win over $600 in items. They are new to Ebay and have bidding up at storm.
Thousands of dollars in bids. At first I thought maybe it was a kid bidding for kicks. Then I notice the feedback rolling in for them. They asked me for a freight quote to (Korea)and for NYC. Then they asked if they could send a check (US Funds). Now they want to wire transfer the money. I check with the owners of the company and they gave it the ok.
I gave the bidder the information but they are insisting I give them the account holders names. My bank says they do not need that information. Does anyone have any experience with wire transfers.

I don't know about your bank, but when we send wires at the co I work for, we have to provide the ABA, ACCT#, Name of receiving bank, and Name of receiving party - and sometimes the address of the receiving party as verification. So it wouldn't be unheard of to ask that info - if the name on the account is the business name, and you have security to authorize wires (a PIN # or something), they shouldn't be able to use the information to SEND you the $ to remove any $ , if that's your concern. Definitely talk to your bank about it if you want more info.

DEFINITELY talk to your bank. They probably charge a whopping big fee for incoming wire transfers, and the buyer should cover those fees as well. Why not suggest Bidpay? Probably lower cost for them, and you'd get the money almost as fast.
If you give them the info they want, there's no way they can get money OUT of your account. They would be able to get the same information if you handed them a check, remember.
