eBay is an AOL keyword, in otherwords, rather than type out the url, we can just type ebay into the keyword box. When you go this way, you get the AOL banner at the top. The url is a bit different too, with AOL in the address, such as http://cgi1.ebay.aol.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbayLogin. This would be the log in page through AOL. This comes in handy sometimes, when ebay is working slow, or some areas aren't working at all, you may be able to get through the AOL part.

i believe ebay paid aol 200 millions dollars to cobrand EBay on aol, that was when ebay was not exactly an international household word, but someone said that is ransom money for aol not to compete.
lately i wonder when and if ever aol will expand its shops as so many of its customers sign on with aol before they move on to internet.
aol may not do auction big way but no one said aol members cannot have shops on aol?
i am an aol member,i will sure look into a shop on aol if it does not cost me an arm or a leg
