Hi all;

I have had several overseas buyers receintly, and a question was asked of me to be a "drop-shipper". I can charge a fee for it, but what would be reasonable? They would want 1-3 shipments a month, which would save them tremendously on international charges. The goods would be going to France and/or Spain. Any suggestions would be helpful.

You should request all the seller's email addresses and only ship items that have been paid in a manor that can't be 'chargedback' and you must be able to open all packages for inspection.

Thanks, Zazzie, we had already discussed that-all packages will be opened for inspection by myself and a 3rd party for verification.

It's not fraud, roofguy; as I said, I have dealt with this gentleman before. He and his son run an antique business, but shipping fees for 1 or 2 items at a time are higher in avrage then a bulk ship.

Any other help out there? Ideas for charges, handling etc...these are mostly small items, books and such.

Thanks,
Rick

are they buying from others in usa and have them shipped the goods to you so you can ship to him or ship to his customers overseas??
this is common among merchants who have developed relationship over a period of time.
use your own judgement
talk to lawyer who knows about intl law ,it sounds like you are acting as his agent

consolidator is a term in shipping business where customer will order from different companies and have them ship to one freight forwarder.
this freight forwarder will consolidate all these shipments into say one containload or less than a containerload and arrange for broker on the other to clear customs and arrange local land delivery .
no one works for free,you should charge a fee for your time.
if this will continue indefinitely,and it is not taking up too much of your time,i will ask for 25-50 a month plus or minus packing material,phone calls etc
