I bought some of these Friday...they are of movie stars when they did ads...black and white...old ones.
They had a protective cover on them so they are pretty good shape...
Do these sell?
What/how/where would I list them..and how would I describe them?
Thanks
Carole

ok lets see if i understand this
you bought these ads not knowing if they sell or have a value then you come here and ask if they sell and how and where you would list them.........heres a thought, why not go look on ebay yourself and figure it out like most sellers do or are you paying a commission for this knowledge..........

Carole: Looking through eBay's completed auctions is one way to go. There is a category for advertising and you can see what items have been selling at for the past 30 days. I honestly don't know if there are "seasons" when ads sell better or if it is a year-round thing. It's helpful to look at the listings of more experienced sellers to see how they do things, though you'll want to adapt your listings to suit your own TOS.

I had some ads from the 1940s
and 1910s, and did some looking a few months back. Others will list who have more experience, but until they do...here is something to get started.
I noticed under "collectibles, advertising, coca cola (may be something inbetween) there
is an ad featuring Aretha Franklin and Coke.
[Edited here because yours is black and white].
I noticed there is a movie section, but I didn't see any category for advertising posters.
I used this site below for background info for a movie item. You might want to try this for each ad. I research many of my items to death, but found some neat things at this site:
At www.eonline.com you can type in
your movie star or movie and get a little background, like release year, producer, other stars, etc. Typing in "Jean Harlow" I found her last movie was Saratoga, made in 1937. One of the cast was Lionel Barrymore. Would be interesting to give background into, like the producer Jack Conway in case someone is looking for items from his movies..if you had this one!
I know this hasn't helped much, but
good luck. Sounds like fun. Hope you got a deal on them. Lab Rat 4 GMOS

Well Carole: I wish you all the luck in the world and lots and lots of people come here asking for advice re books or LPs. I would think the ads would sell very well especially because they are movie stars! Great market for that kind of stuff ! I would think it might be wise to put under ADvertising and another one under movie stars stuff~ not much help but just wanted to give you support after that last post! Cheers and good luck on this incredible find. Suzanne
