I own a very small business and recently purchased new cell phones for my company. I have done a search on eBay for the older phones and they are not selling very well, so I was thinking of giving them to a charity as a tax write-off. I have seen/read news stories about the donation of old cell phones to women's shelters, police departments, etc. but am unable to come up with the name of any such organization(s). Any help in locating one of these organizations would be appreciated.

Our local 911 dispatch center is collecting used cell phones and reprogramming them for 911 use only. They are then given to battered women's shelter's for use. They are free to use since they only dial 911.

Our sheriff's department is working with TRIAD to provide these to seniors in our community. Women's shelters - that's a great idea, too.
