Have an auction for a glassware item. Runs 7 days, ends on 20th.

Started at $4.99, had 2 bids, was at $6.50. Now one bidder has bid retracted due to eBay "administrative cancellation" so they are now NARU for whatever reason (had 74 positive fb with no negs). The bid retract shows they had left $11.00 on the table when bid was canned. So now it's back to $4.99.

Let it run with just the 1 bidder, or cancel & re-list -- I would have liked the chance to have the current only bidder place more bids but now with no one currently to bid against, it could go for the minimum. If no one else had placed a bid, I wouldn't be thinking this, but it seems there was at least enough interest for more than 1 person...

What would you do?

Hi upriver,

Did you have a counter on the auction? If it was getting lots of attention I would be tempted to leave it listed as many people seem to bid near the end.

I would also check and see if there are any other items like it that are listed at this time and if so I would check the bidding on them and also on the closed auctions and then decide.

Another decision that may factor in is how much you have invested in the item and if it is a harder to find piece.

Good luck!

For such a small ticket item I wouldn't worry about it. There is still plenty of time left to get some bids

Unless I had some much more serious problem like a real high bidder retracting as a posible ploy to cover a lower bid late in the auction I do not wish to irritate buyers by cancelling. If I set a minimum I am prepared to sell it for that. Sometimes the buyer gets a relaitve bargin. - That's one of the reasons the bidders keep coming. If eBay gets a reputation as never having a great deal how many will look?
