If I send something express overnight to get there by 3pm...they made an attempt at 1:45pm....left notice....it said they will make 2nd attempt then hold for 5 days. Is that 2nd attempt later in the day? My customer told me NOT to waive the signature reqiuremtn but these are very expensive time-related product (tickets to an event). Is the 2nd attempt typicaly made that day, or the next? Is ther ea way for the person to obtain the express mail envelope from the post office?

The customer got their shot for the day and they weren't there. The ExpressMail assigned delivery person should be back tomorrow. If they get to the post office today it should be available for pickup at least by the end of the day. The local post office here tells customers who have missed regular or Priority packages to try at window closing time or up to a half hour later at the drop door.

If your customer waits until tomorrow to try it will probably be back out for redelivery.

Probably not. There is a chance, depending on your carrier, that they MAY stop back IF it is not out of the way before they go back in. (this is were being a little 'extra' nice to your postal person can pay off)

We have had Express packages (when I know they are coming) held at the PO so I can pick them up early afternoon. We live in a small village and I know all of the clerks. You can tell the person to try leaving a hold message at his PO.

Wait until tomorrow morning. The arrival and failed delivery attempt scans haven't transferred to the database yet. That just shows it was received and was on its way. By morning it should show a delivery attempt.

oops... I overlooked the change in location. Possibly they're trying the same address in a different city. Eventually they'll fine someone at a matching address.

Seriously, this would seem to indicate a problem. I'd call their toll free number and ask that the inquiry results be explained.
