I really do not want it to be a hassle, but she has had alot of changes in her information, and PayPal won't allow her debit card payment. Here is what she wrote me. Any suggestions on how I can proceed with this? TIA
Thanks for responding. I don't know why but you have been the only seller
that has to have a confirmed address. That is the problem. Usually I check
the box on the bottom of the form not to have an address supplied for the seller through Paypal but your account says it has to have a confirmed address. I just got through paying for another item that I bought the other day on Ebay and his account didn't need a confirmed address. Can you change that in Paypal and then I could pay you? I have already transfered the money into Paypal and don't wish to have to wait more time to wait for a check to get to you and then to clear and then to get here. I tried to use another
credit card through Paypal but I have married since I got it and just moved.
The debit card that I use for Paypal is in my maiden name and in another state.
Sorry for the inconvenience all around...I just wish to get my item to me and have the transaction through in a timely manner.

Paypal will not protect you, in the case that something goes wrong, if you do not send to a confirmed address. I use Paypal, and my address is not confirmed. When I first signed up I verified using my bank account, and my address was listed as confirmed. They changed the rules or something, and now, unless I submit a credit card, I have no confirmed address. I don't have a credit card, I can't get a credit card. Everything I pay for comes from exsisting funds, that I transfer from my bank account. I have not had a problem with an unconfirmed address, but if someone objected, I would first explain why, and if they were still worried, I'd send 'em a check and wait for my item. I can understand a seller's hesitance at sending to an uncomfirmed address.
do you have prefs set on you pp account to automatically not accept payments without a confirmed address? didn't know you could do that. when i get one without a confirmed address, i just get the warning, but have the option to accept. if the person's got good feedback, i go ahead and accept it. had a new user with no pp address, which made me a little concerned, so i emailed and asked her about it, and explained why sellers can be concerned about it. turned out her home burned down, so was using her parent's address for her cc bills. everything worked out fine. hope yours does too.

Hi,
I've had a couple with similar issues. Had a snowbird with homes in two states. Wanted to ship to a different state etc. I asked for explanation, and e-mailed a couple of sellers she dealt with before, both answered very nicely, confirmed she was a repeat customer and shipped to one or the other. But it does make you nervous.

I've accepted and shipped to unverified with no problems.
Considering all the problems with PP's "protection" programs, I don't see them as reliable to protect anything of mine.
If you're really worried, maybe you could take her payment, but tell her you won't ship until the funds are actually in your bank.
Also, if she's using existing funds, can she even do a chargeback? I thought this was a complaint in one of the "Buyer Protection is a joke" threads (not the most recent one).

Thanks Everyone. What she finally did was have a friend pay me using her account with the shipping noteation to ship to my winners address.
Kittyx3> Yes that has happened to me before where PP has sent me the warning about it not being a confirmed address of the buyers, and then I have always shipped anyway, after emailing the customer, and verifying things. I just found this one a bit strange because I got no such notice that a payment was attempted to be made, and my buyer said to me in an email that it was my fault in other words, that she could not make a payment, and for me to change my preferences. All's well that ends well. Thanks guys!!
