camachinist: Great description of a maroon

airguy: Shouldn't that be 'Pinky and the 'braindead?'

tomwii: Should a color so decide to take it upon itself to run eBay I'm sure it could do a better job than whoooomever or whatever is running it at the moment!

Kakkle!

There were some agreements made, as the venture capitol arrived for expansion, that more professional, experienced and tested management would be hired.

That started during the period previous to the IPO and continues up until today.

It seems the Founder was given a title, a corner office, lots of money as a result of the IPO and told to stay out of the way. I think that has been our loss as "out of the way" seems to be mostly Europe.

Most of the top management the Founder hired has left or been promoted to duties far, far away from the main office.

Day to day operations and changing policies are under the direction of Meg Whitman and the staff she has overseen hiring.

They are, of course, responsible to the Board of Directors and in turn all have to answer to the stockholders.

But, the last SEC report I saw stated that that 54% of the stock was held by "insiders" which is defined as top management, members of the Board and early, large investors etc.

Meaning that it's all one small tight group working mostly for themselves and answering to themselves. And selling off their stock holdings at a very fast pace.

This answer is, in my opinion, not in conflict with the more abbreviated but still accurate answers given in the earlier posts to this thread.

It's patently clear to me that NOBODY runs eBay.

Whenever I have a problem with their service, NOBODY there is responsible.

Meg runs ebay! End of discussion!

WAIT

I hear a wee troll whispering in my ear. He's telling me that eBay is considering changing it's name to megbay.com

Or is that e-megbay.com

Anyway, both names are still available from the InterNic so opportunity knocks but twice!

I'm really torn on this one. Part of me thinks it's the hampsters from Hell, the other part has to go with God! Man, I hate these kinds of decisions!

these are copies of the actual ads he ran (which eBay pulled) he now has them posted at this web site location for all to see.
