Hi all,
I'm getting ready to launch several book auctions and was wondering if its kosher to copy/post the back and table of contents. I was planning on saying something like "from the table of contents...."
There are other folks who are selling the same books who have taken the blurbs off the back or off the publishers websites without credit. With the crazy Vero system I don't want my auctions ended because another seller got their undies in a bunch because I "copied" their copy of a copy.
Also, can small time sellers join VERO or is that just for the big fish?

I'd like to know also. Usually, when I write one up, if I take excerpts from the inside cover (or wherever) I put in parenthesis who it's from (example: bla bla bla (Newsday Magazine)) Hope that's okay! I also usually use the description right from the inside cover or dust jacket. ?? Am I in big trouble?

I've done that quite frequently and never heard a peep of complaint from anyone. Far as Vero, let them old sleepin dogs lie...

As long as you make it clear that you're quoting from the book, the jacket, etc., you're in the clear. You're not stealing their work, or claiming it as your own. A short quote is almost always "fair use." Don't worry about this.

Of course this is okay...
I've been a bookseller for years & do this on some items specially romance.
Just put something like,
"summary".Then type or copy a short description of the story..it'll help the buyers..its just a little time consuming.
Look at amazon.com they have reviews, summaries etc. It always helps BTW I sell there too, easier way to sell & list for some books that are not too htf
I seriously doubt it if anyone would complain about rhis kind of thing . If they do I think it wil be ridiculous!

VERO is basically a system used by your competitors to get your auctions cancelled. It is sometimes also used by legitimate IP owners to cancell auctions.
