During the last few months, payments by Billpoint are outpacing Paypal...I love it!...I wish all my buyers use Billpoint! Easier to use because it's integrated into the system and their customer support is 10 times better than Paypal (you actually talk to a live person)

They take 3% plus 35 cents of transactions over $15 I believe currently, and 35 cents of all other transactions. To state something positive, be thankful they're not taking 50%!!!!

BillPoint is eBay, so eBay gets to take a larger chunk of your proceeds (we won't call it profit cause it might not be! --- whether you sell at a loss or not they'll still take your money). The thing that is really frightening about BillPoint is the buyers ability to initiate a chargeback at anytime and seller's having no recourse. You simply lose YOUR MONEY!

Taking CC on line is huge risk. Unless you have the card right in front of you, you can get stiffed.
Its a big game for a lot of people becouse they know that nothing will happen to them.

Risk free crime. Thats why I like bidpay, no surprizes here. There is no 'protection' no matter what anyone says.

Bottom line, if the manure hits the fan, you will be the one taking the hit. If you wish to take CC online you need a strong back bone.

Billpoint takes longer to pay out than PayPal;the only plus is they can pay straight from the page with instant purchase which is very convenient.

Credit cards raise the cost of doing business while enabling business to be done more efficiently. As a bidder I like it, as a seller, I can make fewer trips to the bank.

I've taken Billpoint from it's start as a SELLER.

I used Billpoint for the first time as a BUYER just the other day to pay for an auction because I had exhausted the funds in my Paypal account. (That new debit card is dangerous. lol)

Anyway, I was amazed at how easy it was now for the buyer to pay for an item through Billpoint. Just go to the item page, click on "Pay Now" and click through a few more pages fill in a few blanks and boom, it's paid for. No more manual input of the auction info like you have to do with Paypal.

As a seller, I prefer that my buyers use Paypal. But seeing how easy Billpoint is now, I don't blame my buyers for preferring it over Paypal. Billpoint sales are now running about even with Paypal with my auctions.

I would like for them to come up with a method of handling multiple items. (A shopping cart feature combined with the new Ebay Stores would be great.) Other than that, I think Billpoint is great.

For those that are still crying over the small fees: Unless, you're doing a HUGE volume and/or very high ring sales, it's still much cheaper than having a Merchant Account for web sales. With all the monthly statement fees and terminal/software lease as well as the 2.5% + $0.35 per transaction you pay on a Merchant Account it really adds up to more like 5% or more.

BP? I don't like their gas or oil. Besides, lets keep the dollars on this side of the pond. I know, the devil made me do it.

For some of us, your "crying over the small fees" translates to good business sense. A
fundamental tenet of business is to keep your expenses low.

If the customer wants the item she will find a way to pay you.

I have been considering other forms of payment not generally accepted but that would still allow a customer to use a credit card. For example, what if a customer went to http://www.usps.com and bought stamps in the amount they owe you; then had USPS ship them to you? Currently this doesn't work, as USPS won't ship to an address other than your CC billing address, but it's a start at thinking outside the box. I use more than $500 worth of stamps every month; sure would be nice to have them come in the mail periodically!

This isn't as weird as it might sound. Some of the pawn shops doing business on eBay will take payment in gold coins, silver bullion, rare stamps, etc.

As for saying something good about BP, I think a blood pressure is a very good thing to have, given the alternative.
