There are about 20 of these widgets listed, and of those, about 5 are exactly the same, 5 are Almost the same as the first five, and the other 10 are very similar to the first 10. They all are the same widget, just different versions. (Let's say editions) I have a bidder on my widget, and noticed feedback of 0, so went to their info page, just out of curiosity. Funny thing, they signed up TODAY....and have bid on four of those widgets, all at different versions, all different "editions". Okay, okay, the widget is a book. Two are paperback, two are hardcover. Do collectors sometimes buy four or five copies of the same book, some BCE and some not, some pb some hc? Or maybe it is a bookstore? Just curious, not complaining....

My dad collects a particular author. In addition to collecting one of every title for that author, he also collects one of every edition of a particular title. I used to collect Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys, and would collect the older ones in several different editions, because they were "updated" to reflect the changing technology and social situations.
I also will bid on a book if I am reading a series and that one is missing. If I'm buying it for that purpose, I'll buy any edition I can get, as long as the price is right.

I purchased 4 of the same book last year to send 2 my sons who live in different states. Wanted them all to be able to read it. Passed my copy around to the 5 who live locally.
I also will purchase the same book in paperback to read and HC to save in my collection.
