The body is steel, top brass, it is 3 ¼ inches long, and on one side it has “Springfield O.” the other side has “The Ri” and the rest of the letters can not be read. I think it is a level for an older transit, what do you think? Thanks for any info!

I don't know anything about the level, but in the Ohio area "O." is often used for the abbreviation for Ohio - usually I see it with Cincinnati, not Springfield.

It looks like the tear gas casement body from a very old vault bank door.
A note if it is that, the clear stuff inside: they made tear gas from (1900 - 1920s) was from gun power, if it is cloudy very bad.
I had to have the PD bomb squid remove mine because it turned in to something like nitro G.
I thought the lock smith was just jerking me, he called them.
They empty the building and closed the street, took it out to the land fill to destroy.
One large Boom, after see that, I had the vault in the basement checked too.

It is definitely a bubble level, I just don’t know what for. I like the idea of a camera level.
