I just looked at BidPay's website and am wondering what other sellers that use it have to say about it. I currently don't use it but am considering it. Any comments would be appreciated.

I accept it as a payment option, but would never use it myself. I don't want to pay to send a payment via Snail Mail...

A $5 fee to send a money order sounds a little high to me, and if they charge your credit card for payment then why not just use Paypal, billpoint etc.. Just my thoughts

I have had overseas cutomers use it to pay me and each time it had worked well. $5.00 for an MO saves them considerably over the usual cost of international MO. It is the only online payment that I use.

I take it. I've only gotten a couple of payments that way, but it was fine. I don't ship based on their email; I ship when the MO is in my hand, and I tell my customers that if they request paying that way. Apparently for it's not that expensive to international buyers, in comparison to other methods for them that is - I don't think US folks use it much.
Lately there have been some complaints on this and other boards about mix-ups, so I'd definitely wait until the MO was in your hands.

If i ever see an option on bidpay...as the only option i probably will not bid....5 bucks to me is robbery...plus the shipping handling charges by the seller adds about 10 bucks to your high bid....pretty ridiculous...

If I see bidpay or money order as the only methods of payment on an auction, I won't bid. I can understand why U.S. sellers would offer that as an option as a convenience to international bidders, but I don't see how any U.S. buyer would pay that way. $5 for a money order-- forget it.

five bucks for a money order seems high to me, too. i don't do international, but if i did, i'd have bidpay in my auctions because it makes sense for those buyers. i've had one buyer pay me via bidpay. it was just fine. i figured she was very busy, didn't want to use a cc, and it was worth the $5 to her to not go get a money order.

I have had no problems with BidPay. I will say that 50% so far have been American buyers. That said, the American buyers have tended to be winners in higher dollar amounts, so for them the percentage isn't an issue perhaps? Yesterday the latest BidPay check arrived.
My only "gripe" is that on the check it doesn't tell me the item number. THat part is (i tossed the junk part, so this is memory) on the other side.... I'd prefer my auction number to their tracking number on the check. Personal preference -- means little i suppose.

P.S. -- It's free to the recipient of the money, so that works great for me. I think the only thing I had to provide BidPay was my name and address where to send me money. My bank account is MY business -- as is how many transactions I have made, and, well, other personal stuff that involves my privacy.

I offer BidPay but, so far, the only ones who've used it are my international customers. I'm delighted with it and am 100% satisfied. However, even though they say it's OK to ship once the seller received the second notice, I, too, wait until the MO is in my hot little hand before shipping. For international buyers, it's cheaper to pay the $5.00. Actually, it's the only form of payment (aside from cash) that I accept from international buyers. Don't have any of the hassles/extra charges, etc. from banks when trying to deal with international checks and MO's. Plus, it's basically a "no hassle" for the seller...always a plus!

I offer BidPay as an option for foreign bidders and have never had a problem with it. I go ahead & ship the item when I receive the *second* confirming email from them--the MO arrives in the mail in 3-7 days.
I used it once to pay for an item, despite the $5 cost, because I was sick & unable to get out to buy a MO (not to mention getting to the post office)--and *that* transaction went off without a hitch as well.
