Why do people think that just because the auction is over you will sell your widget cheaper?? Someone emailed me with that exact question through eBay's wonderful "ask seller a question form". He also wanted to know if I could ship it cheaper. I would rather burn it than sell to one of these morons. The auction had only been over a few hours. It really, really makes me angry when people do that. Just because it didn't sell doesnt mean I want to let it go cheaper. Not only is it against eBay rules, It is a stupid freaking question.

I just got one from high biddder at 100 of a auction that had a 300 reserve on, reserve price was stated in the aucion
He says he expects me to sell it to him becouse he is the high bidder and beside he is buying it for a non profit group...I replied that I did not want to become non profit and the item had been relisted no reserve 250 opening bid ..the item is new in the box and wholesle price is 468.....I guess they can always try

As long as eBay lets anyone who wants to look at them, see closed auctions, there will be that segment that trys to "shop" the closed list.
I often ask MORE than the "opening bid" in a case like this. It seperates the "really did miss the auction" folks from the "I'm so cheap I squeek" folks REAL QUICK.

eBay promotes getting stuff cheap and that's the mentality of many bidders.
When I shop I used to look for stuff on eBay first and then price compare. Now I look for it LAST on eBay as prices may be as much or more than retail.
Bidders need to do their homework so if someone is offering a good value, regargless of venue, they are willing to buy.
