The one micro-thin nerve I had left after FLD has been stomped by the group I use for a counter on my website.

Darn thing won't stay up 3/4 of the time & hangs up my opening page.

Seems I go through counter providers like some people go through potato chips. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for any counter provider which they actually LIKE? Is reliable? Gives decent stats?

Please answer slowly since ALL of my nerves are now shot & I'm prone to react violently to sudden movements.

I use Rubylane's hidden counters. They're small, you can copy-and-paste the html into your item description (you don't have to add them to your listing after it has already been submitted), and they claim that the counters never keep your auction description from loading.

...provider which they actually LIKE? Is reliable? Gives decent stats?

-I like Rubylane.
-They have always been reliable for me.
-Decent stats? Depends on your definition of decent.

For eBay, you get this info:

Item id
Auction Start
Auction End
Current Price
Title
Number of Views
High Bidder

For Yahoo, you get this info:

Title
Current Price
Number of Bids
Number of Views
Auction Closes Within

You can also get counts for Amazon auctions, but I don't use them anymore, so I'm not sure what information is provided.

MR.P ....... I also use RubyLane's hidden counters for my auctions. I thought Eventer was looking for a counter/stat program for her website?

reddeer-

I guess you're right. It would have helped if I had paid more attention to eventer's post. Do I at least get partial credit for trying to help?

Partial credit extended.

Neil, they'll get that coffee cup when they pry it from my cold, gnarled dead hands.

edited because my fingers still aren't typing right after FLD.

Well, it's not that I was ignoring your post so much as it was being eager to help. ( Yeah, that's it... )

mrp,

Sounds like the same thing my husband says.

I think it's time for a shipping & handling thread..there hasn't been one ALL week & I'm getting lonely.

True, but try looking on the bright side- there have been more PayPal threads than usual.

Good thing, too. My husband, Stumpy, tried that only once.
