My sell thru has been mediocre compared to past weeks, but the Buy It Now feature seems to be creating a bunch of quick sales. And I've been able to sell a few things I've never had any success selling on other sites before. Wouldn't have listed many if it hadn't been for FLD. Even during slow holiday periods eBay still seems to have better sell thru than other sites have during normal periods. Have to give them lots of credit for that! I guess that's what we're paying for and it's a attributable to their marketing ability.

So, how long before eBay charges for the Buy It Now feature?

I listed about 40 items on FLD, they all sold last night. Every single item I put up! I even made a HUGE profit! It is hard to believe how well FLD paid off! (Knock on Wood, most of my auctions are selling, MANY ending woth 10 or more bids...) It hasn't been this good since December!

All I'm selling is the stuff in my E-Bay Store.I had three sales this morning. I listed about 50 on FLD.

Actually, mine are doing pretty good. I have 400 auctions up currently and am starting to get some good bids in. I listed most for 10 days and they are collectibles so I am gonna cross my fingers.

kyms,

How the heck were you able to bat 1000% only 3 days after FLD???? 40 out of 40 in one night??? Are you kidding us??? What the heck are you selling that's so hot???
You don't have to tell us, but CONGRATS!

My sales are very mediocre (about 20% have bids) and I put a variety of items up just to see what was selling right now.

I'm a little disappointed, but hope there are a lot of snipers ready to bid!

Interestingly, the items I hold for FLD (items which I couldn't GIVE away earlier) have been moving out nicely. Maybe because I use FLD to list in 2 categories rather than my standard one & someone somewhere saw something they needed.

BINS coming along nicely & new bids showing up everyday w/days to go.

I'm always pleased w/the results on FLDs & I usually have pretty good luck on holidays (though Memorial Day was the rare exception this year!).

Can hardly wait for the next FLD in late December.

Out of 309 listed:

1 - BoughtItNow, for 40% HIGHER than I had the item listed for opening (that didnt sell) the week before

11% - Have bids after 3 2/3rds days being up..

About 33% - as many hits on average as compared to listing about the same # of items 4 different times in Nov, Dec, Dec, Jan.

Of those that have bids (11%), 90% are at opening bid, but a couple have been bid up to MUCH higher than I've (or most anyone else) has ever listed the same item [used] for before.

All of mine (except the BIN above) are in the $1.00 to $2.50 range openings for the most part and will sell in the upper end to slightly above that range as well, on average. (Yes, it was box cleaning time on media items)

Overall I'm happy to this point.. I have $56 bucks in bids, an average of ~$1.75 per item with a bid for stuff I wouldn't have paid $105 to list (all) separately. Plus $14 for the BIN I didn't expect to sell.

I'll consider it a success if I average $2.00 per item and sell 60% of them. I'll consider it a failure if I don't hit 40% or keep $1.50 average, and a whopping success if I hit 70% sell thru and $2.50 average. (That's what I got in Nov/Dec/Jan on like items and listings)

Oh yeah.. "cost" on these items is from 5-50 cents, averaging ~10 cents overall

so far, only 2 items with bids out of 35. not exactly a resounding success, but i am getting quite a number of 'ask seller a question' emails, and i'm hoping for snipers. let's just hope ebay doesn't lose it on the 5th

Old magazines.. All had "bondage" type covers.. They sold like hotcakes! I've never seen such fast and furious bidding! (and I still have about a hundred left to post!)

I got 104 listed, 51 have bids, 132 bids total. This is stuff I couldn't give away last week. Most of it is single pieces I had left out of sets and books. I think it will all sell in the end. I have nothing in this stuff, I already made my money out of it a long time ago, so this is just a little extra. I started everything at a dollar and that seemed to help quite a bit on bids. For the auctions I had ending in 3 days I had a 25% sell rate. Not as good as about 90% which I normally have. But I also had 3,100% more auctions out. So I am happy!!!!!!!!!

The 4 auctions I had listed for tonight are all sold. I had more but they went BIN earlier.

I have only had 5 BIN so far.

This is really interesting to me.

I listed 290 items. 130 were old items I had listed 2-3 times and never got a bite on them. 160 were brand new listings.

So far I have sold 30 of the items and out of those 30, 28 are from the re-lists! Only 2 of the new items have bids!

I'm pretty glad I've managed to move the old items and I definitely won't mind relisting the new at a more opportune time.

I've always looked at free listing day as a final chance for my non-sellers.

Had 185 listings and so far bids on 18. Not bad but not good either.
All are for old and out of print books, all with starting bids of $1.00 - $2.00. Even the books in the $80.00 value range. Hope they get more than 1 bid.
But I needed to make some room on my shelfes. Whatever did not sell will get rebundled with some other books. My normal sell-through is 50 - 60%, but it's not for single books like this time around.

I managed to list 37 items in the 5 hours I had. I had 3 BIN's, and I have 4 items with bids (mostly low end type reprints). None of the biggie's have a bid yet. My ratio of hits to my lists are up about 38%, so I still have high hopes.

ps; I already made all my "fees" back, LOL!!

This is foreign to me and disheartening too. I'm not used to having stuff sit there without bids for days. I normally have around an 85% sell-through rate, sometimes even better over a short stretch. Oh, I still have managed a decent sell-through lately, but a lot of the stuff still sits there for days before it's bid on.

Something is amiss.

Am I going to have to start offering Paypal just to get a freakin' bid?

Not as well as I would have liked. I think my items may be a bit stale. I got some good buys and they were yielding about 300% profit or more so I guess I made some money. Hoping for some last minute bids

We listed 32 auctions. Of the 32, 23 have 88 bids (up to about half the reserve prices) and still have 6 days to go (used 10 day auctions).

Of the reminaing 11 auctions, 2 are in adult and may or may not sell. The balance are 9 "filler" auctions that we generally sell as add ons to people who have purchased substantial items and can add on small items with combined postage.

I think we'll end up next week doing very well with free listing day....

AND we absolutely DO NOT accept PAYPAL or billpoint either.

Good luck all.

Loosecannon-I accept Paypal and Billpoint-and mine aren't doing worth a crap either. LOL

Granted, I'm just a greenhorn compared to most of you, but this is the first time I've put things up and they just sit there. I had some bids the first day and thought it was going to do well. But since then-hardly nothing! I didn't get any bids all weekend-that has never happened before. Some of the things I listed are very hard to sell, but others are things I've done really well with in the past-even those aren't doing anything to get excited about. Oh well-maybe next time.

I am happy to report ( I probably should not cause eBay might be watching) that relisting the FLD auctions do qualify for a refund if sold.

Wow 3 months now of free listings for me! I did not put out a lot of dutch auctions I kept it to single items and listed several of each.

This is looking better all the time.

FLD = Free Listing Day

EOA = End of Auction

TOS = Terms of Service

BIN = Buy It Now

These are just a few of them we use here. Hope this helps!

I listed mainly for the inexpensive exposure on some very high priced antiques before I move them over to the "haggle". I am very happy tho to have a bid on a Stickley item! And I've had a few emails and 1600 hits already on 12 items. Very happy!
