Is ther any way to tell if a bidder has ever been NARU I am fairly certain there is no way thru ebay but does anyone know of any tools that will do this ?
It really shoulc be part of feedback right under bid retractions

I don't know of any way but agree it could be of help especially to the buyers.

It would also be nice to show the number of non paying bidder credit requests filed by sellers. Although it'd only be more info to wonder about. I just wish they'd keep eBay up and running.

As a seller I don't think I've ever cancelled the bid of a buyer with a bad record. Been tempted but fortunately most have come through. Also they are often outbid and had I canceled their bid, would have lost money. Really haven't had many deadbeat problems lately.

Not to be curt here spock, but it aint none of your business...

Perhaps we should request the sellers tax returns, and their childrens birth records as well?

What good would knowing how many deadbeat bidders a seller has be surrrfurtom?

I am really dazed and confuzed by that one...

I suppose it IS the sellers fault that so many bidders are losers and deadbeats.

IMHO, I don't need any more reasons to be paranoid!
Besides, the more you try to bash someone's reputation, the more apt they are to look for alternatives (either new auction site or new ID).
hmmm.......
I would think there is less risk involved with a "redeemed" bidder (one who has overcome their NARU with the same ID) than a newbie.

How do you know it is Mr. Spock and not Mrs. Pock?

I disagree its like saying that negatives are non of my business sellers seem more likely to file fvf than to leave negs and risk retalition if you are hign bidder on my item and I can see that you have been naru twice it gives me one more tool in deciding if i should cancel the bid to cancel the bid.
A better analogy would be arrest records NARU should be public info just like DUI and other convictions.

Sorry to daze & confuse you on that one....

What I meant was it'd be nice to know if buyer xyz had 2 non-paying bidder credits filed on him or her in the last 7 days (maybe using feedback page).

I hope all sellers file appropriate NPB requests as that is the only way to weed out deadbeats. Trouble is that other sellers don't have a clue that this buyuer is accumulating NPB demerits until the buyer is suddenly NARU. Neg FB is only the tip of the iceburg.

mrspock: Unfortunately, eBay suspends for so many reasons, that you would have no way of knowing if if the suspension was for an account balance being paid late, an infringing item being posted, a rude email being sent, shill bidding, etc.

Your example of public DUI records is quite different, as that is a specific crime...suspensions at ebay are not, and in fact in many cases, are just due to laziness and stupidity on the ebay staffs part.

surrrfurtom: Makes a bit more sense now...

I had read your statement to mean that... for example, I, the seller, have filed 400+ FVF's.

Makes more sense now...duh!

zoomin: ummm... guess it's my vulcan mind-meld
