What is up with this new window I get every time I go to Paypal?? It pops up asking if I want to proceed because Paypal's security certificate has expired! Just wondering if I'm the only one getting this warning...

Hi bluepaloma,
This generally happens if the user is not working off of the latest version of their browser. Please check that you are working off of the latest version.

paypaldamon-
will give it a try...I was really just concerned that Paypal was all of a sudden unsecure which I knew was unlikely.

What the hell are you talking about paypaldamon???
The browser has nothing to do with it!
I've had the same browser for 4 years and all of a sudden I get the same message about the expired certificate! It said it expired 7/6/01. That date is coming from your web site, not the browser! I don't get it with IE 5.5 but I get it with Netscape 4.7.
You have a bug in your web site ever since it was "updated" this past week. Tell your software engineers to fix it!

You've had your browser for 4 years ... odds are you do not have the latest version. While the security document did orginally originate from PayPal, it is your browsers job to keep it up to date - which it obviously isn't. Visit your browers website to get the latest version.

so...
All of a Sudden PayPal users come out to question the expired certificate that coincidentally all of our browers defaulted to in the past week?
I think NOT!!
I, for one, would like to know what's going on...

"all of our browsers" ??
Speak for yourself, zoomin.
I don't get the pop up at all, never have.

Oddly enough, I got the "certificate expired" pop-up when I tried to access the log in screen from my bookmarks/favorites link...but when I typed in the URL directly and consented to accept a cookie (I hate those!)it let me into the secured log-in screen with no changes to my browser.
Kind of mystified...

To reiterate, this regards the many users who have questioned this in the last week.
I wouldn't dream of speaking for you.
*Thank you for your useful addition to this thread*

What happened to Paypaldamon? He was quick to post a response to my initial question but now that more people seem to have experienced this....anyway, just interesting to me.
