I posted a message here about four days ago, about WebTV users being unable to use PayPal. Guess what? Still can't! I have to trundle over to my daughter's house to use her computer to pay for my auction wins. I also sell, so I guess I'll have to take care of that over there, too.
Where's PayPal Damian? Are you hiding? There's an awful lot of WebTV users out here, you know!
I bet PayPal is using Java, which is not WebTV friendly. Why? I can use WebTV to book flights, buy and sell on Ebay, post here on AW ... WHY THE HECK CAN'T I PAY WITH PAYPAL??????

earthmum, I have webtv and made a payment through paypal about a month ago. The problem could be limited to certain webtv units.

Quickdraw: This problem just showed up around July 5th. Prior to that, I was using PayPal with no problems. I called PayPal and they state it is a WebTV problem. I posted on the WebTV users board, but received an e-mail a day later stating that they didn't post it because the title was confusing. It said "WebTv Users Cannot Access PayPal." Now - how confusing is that?
Incidentally, I am using a Plus unit, Philips Magnavox.
Tech support advised me that the fix went live last night. WebTV users run into issues (at times) because of the unique programming needed to supply the service. Changes on their end, at times, can cause issues with our site.
Please feel free to direct the information my way.

paypaldamon: Thanks for your vigilance! I will try again. Rest assured, I will be back here to report! Somehow, "at times" is vague enough to be unarguable - verrrry clever!!

paypaldamon: Okay - I just tried to send payment through PayPal - IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!!! Same problem, when I hit "send money," it loops me back to the beginning of the form (which makes me suspect Java).
