Here's a minor item that's been making me curious for awhile. If I'm in "My eBay," and click on one of the listed auctions I bid on, instead of going directly to that auction page, I'm instead taken to some intermediate page that has little more than a "click here to view item" link.
What's the point? I obviously clicked on the auction in "My eBay" to view it, why not just have links from "My" eBay go directly to the auction I've clicked on, instead of making me wait for some pointless intermediate page to load up and for me to click on yet another link?

What's being done in the name of direct marketing nowadays is crazy.
The above are all just my opinions, except where I cite facts as such.
Oh, I am not dc9a320 anywhere except AW. Any others are not me.
Is eBay is changing from a world bazaar into a bizarre world?

When you click on an auction from My EBay, it makes your password vulnerable to hackers. EBay added a redirect screen to remove the risk. For me, I see the intermediate screen flash by pretty quickly, but it goes directly to the item screen, without my needing to click on anything on the intermediate one.

Thanks so much for explaining that! This is a question I've wondered about for ages...

Aah, maybe not so pointless then, and I can see how this solution would make sense. So much about eBay's current site increasingly annoys me that I thought the intermediate page was more of the same, but apparently this case isn't. Thanks for the explanation.

Good Morning dc9, I have noticed that is you have Java turned on it does an automatic redirect. If you don't have Java turned on you have to click on the intermediate page to get to the auction.
Must mean something but I haven' bothered to figure it out.
