I have started doing a search on like items that I am thinking of running on E-Bay.If I see a bunch of auctions starting at a dollar listed,I don't bother to run it on E-Bay.I post those items on another site.I am getting so sick of sellers starting everything at a dollar. All that does is get buyers waiting to the last minute to bid on this dollar item, which means its going to bring very little, and anyone else running this item for any money above a dollar is not going to get bids.I am not going to waste my money trying to compete.I am now where I now run very little on E-Bay.Does anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

Hello, a veteran seller for over 2 years now. And bottom line, set your price at the price you can live with, be it sniped at the last minute or bid on for seven days with no opposing bids. I usually always check search for items before I list to make sure I am putting them in the right eBay categories and seeing what previous auctions have garnered. But by and large, just go with the price you can live with and don't worry about those $1.00 auctions. If you value your item up for bid, dollars to doughnuts, so will will your buyers. Remember, lots of good pics and detailed description. It works.
Good Selling!
Sometimes starting at $1.00 does not make a bit of difference. There are plenty of high bids on auctions that started at $1.00 as the seller and the buyers know what to expect in the end.
As the seller, one does take a chance starting at $1.00, however, sometimes that really gets the bidding moving and it finally catches up to the price that you were looking for in the first place.
