Well, I'm giving the M-P actors the rest of the summer off! Laurie-Lee is in Community College and Slick Willie has become a Zen Monk(ey)...

Anyhoo...I've stumbled upon a huge source of:

HallMark Collectible Xmas Tree Ornaments!

Brand new! I can get them for just a few peanuts, or the bananas I usually pay my employees!

So, all ye very knowledgeable AW boarders: anybody have experience with these?

Will they sell now? HallMark starts a big promotion next week for their new editions! Is now good timing for me?

What category? Most of these are Sports with a few really kewl (ugh!) Star Wars ones!

TIA! Hugs & kisses!

Dont have a lot of experience with ornaments. But, seems to me if Hallmark is starting up a campaign, that might be your luck! I would probably get "some" listed, just to see what happens, but I might hold some til about September/October for the Holiday season too. That is, if you have lots of them. Do some research on EBAY current and closed auctions to see what has been getting bids on.....base your judgement on that.

Tomwiii: I don't do ornaments but I know there are a number of Hallmark books just about the ornaments. Identifications, values, series, etc. Would doing some research help unless they are sooo cheap that it doesn't matter if you list them all for $2.00 and will still make a profit ?

A friend is a rabid collector and she buys them by their proper name, date and series. I know she has paid a lot of $$$ for some, and others are very common. Maybe someone will come along who collects these things and be able to give you more information.

I think too you will get more for them in November or early December.

Glad to hear you have given up the MP. It rots your brain after a while.....

FYI, just did a search:

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&pb=&ht=1&query=Hallmark+Ornament+Wars&SortProperty=MetaEndSort

And they (Star Wars Hallmark Ornaments) seem to be doing ok right now.

I did a search too.

Well over 6000 show in completed auctions, some doing fairly well.

You might get a little less by listing them in the off season, but you might also get less closer to Christmas, when the amount of listings go way up.

I guess since they are selling now, why not list them now?

Hi Tom!

I sell a lot of Xmas ornaments and decorations, and I find I actually do better with them out of season than I do closer to the holidays. I think there is just such a glut at that time of year.

Good luck!

THANK YOU! all!

While the employees rest, I'm going to list a bunch this weekend & see how they do!

Sadly, the demand for Simian-Smut seems to be on the wan...maybe the economy?

So, looks like I'm going "legit" and starting a whole new career!

Tom,

Sold the Hallmark Star Trek Klingon Ship (big ugly green thing)with working from 1993 for about $20 last year.

BTW, I had to laugh a few weeks ago when you mentioned 'Bunghole Liquors' in another thread.

I use to live in Salem, and I drove by that place often...always wondered about the name

It is apparently an old "family" name! Of course, I could have a ball with FIRST names to go along with it!
