I'm looking to find some auction management software for my ebay auctions that will work with AOL to send out automatic notification and that will help create a more "professional" looking auction listing. All of the ones I see on ebay seem to charge a monthly fee for their services. Is there any alternative? What do you reccommend?

Um. This one right here (AuctionWatch) doesn't charge a monthly fee. Just a per listing fee of 5 CENTS and then 1% of the final value (up to $4.95 total).
Auctionwatch is a great service, and I've found none better (yet )

Auction Trakker. It's not free, but there's a one-time charge with no monthly fees after that. You do get a 30-day free trial period to see if it's what you're looking for.

i have to admit i have been pleased with the aw services. i thought the money would really hurt and be a noticeable increase on my overall monthly fee bill (ebay, AW, etc) but i have not even noticed it..........ONE problem i think need addressing htough is the fact they do not send a monthly statement like ebay. Its the only monthly fee internet or real life where i don't get a bill...........i think the service is worth the money overall...i do not accept paypal so theres fee savings there........

I personally don't understand why you don't want to pay a fee? Or is it just a monthly fee you have a problem with?
I feel that to get a good service it is worth paying a fee. I won't pay a % of my final value fee but I am more than happy to pay something to have a company make and keep updated all the software that saves me hours and hours each week.
There's no danger of developing eyestrain from looking at the bright side of things!

I use AOL and I use a great auction manager that has no fee. It runs great with AOL and I like the price 0. It is off line but really is nice and fast updates when ebay changes things etc.. I have been using it since goto and AW started charging fees a few months ago and I have never had a problem or hti a glitch with it yet. In fact so far I found it the easy Auction managment software and I can also get to it since it is software I had to load to my computer. Free of course. Easy set up and install real easy and NO ADS nada no zippo zlich.
I am not aloud to post it here the address, I use auction submit but you can e-mail me for the address [email protected] just make sure you put something in the header of the e-mail so I know it isn't junk mail which I delete without even opening.

Shooting Star from Foodogsoftware. It took a little getting used to, it was quite a bit different from the other two programs I've used, but I really love it. And they've been able to keep up with the eBay changes!

AW does not charge a monthly fee per say, but you do get charged fees every month for your listings etc, but not a flat monthly fee.............maybe the poster meant free, no fees whatsoever, not just a flat fee.hell i am not sure if that makes sense but i am sayin it.

I use Auction Submit which is free and its very good for listing. I also paid just a one time fee for Easy Ebay Software and wish I had bought it years ago. It sends my letters and everything for me.

I just went to the shootingstar website. This is shareware that you can download. It costs $49.99 and it appears to by only for ebay auctions.

Auction management software (the kind you download onto your machine, as opposed to web-based applications like AW) includes Auctiva (recurring fees), Seller's Assistant(recurring fees), Invenna (one time purchase), Auction Tamer (one time purchase), Shooting Star (one time purchase), Auction Trakker (one time purchase), and Auction Wizard2000 (one time purchase). None of the above include pic hosting or web-based checkout, which are only available with web-based services like AuctionWatch. And if your machine crashes, you might be in deep kaka, something that isn't the case with web-based services, which you can access from any PC.
There are also more basic listing software programs available for someone who only wants basic auction launching functionality (these won't do it all): Auction Submit, Easy Auction, My Auction Mate, AuctionMaker.
Most all of the full featured web-based services like AW charge either a monthly minumum, a listing fee, a final value fee, or some combination of the above. It really depends on your selling patterns which would be most cost effective. No such thing as a free lunch, ya know?
Most folks I know that use AW are happy with them. Service is reliable, and reasonably priced, IMO. And I think they are compatible with AOL emails.
