I just had a bidder pay me via BillPoint for an auction that ended quite some time ago. I've file for FVF and resold the item. No commincation from this guy for 2+ weeks - now a payment? I of course need to refund his money, but If I used BillPoints' refund option, will I still be out the fee that they charged for this?

Also, I am changing my BillPoint options to NOT allow payments without a BillPoint Invoice. Anyone that has this option checked, does it cause you any problems?

I just turned off all my options and am closing my Billpoint account at once. I do NOT like the gaping hole that exist with Billpoint's access into my checking account.

Why don't banks require authorization for EACH side of the transaction. IOW, I authorize BP to put money INTO my account, but not take from it, etc.

For them to just pick my pockets at their convenience is NOT an acceptable practice. If they want to bill me for a chargeback amount (90 days later??? I don't think so), then they can and I will pay when I can.

Sorry, but reading where one seller got a notice saying that they were snagging $50 of her money + a $10 fee just really gets my goat.

You can only refund with the button if they paid by Credit card. And yes, you will be out the fee.

Thanks fonze, I just found the refund info buried in BillPoints help files. I refunded the persons payment minus my fees.

Hi. I had to refund an echeck once and had to send a money order. Billpoint is getting to be more trouble than it's worth for me. There is a problem with sellers Asstant Basic that when you are setting it up for instant purchase the shipping cost won't show up on the invoice unless you click and extra box that says Pay Conditions Inc. I found this out to late. Then when someone pays without the shpping cost you have to send another invoice and get charge more billpoint fees. It is a huge pain. I put some auctions in last night and don't accept billpoint on them. eBay doesn't seem to be in a hurry to fix it. I also had three buyers eChecks fail on Wednesday and one was a repeat buyer and I'm sure he didn't put the wrong account numbers in. Then when I tried to click the resend button I got a password error and I was already sgined in. I emailed for help and still haven't heard back. I was able to send new invoices several hours later and hopefully they won't fail too. Sorry for ranting.

We all need to rant and get it our from time to time!

I've set BillPoint up now that I cannot accept payments for anything that I have not sent an invoice out for. It will be one more step for those who want to pay this way - but I just can't have people sending me money, and then having to refund it.
