How do you know they got booted? Maybe they just got fed up with ebay and quit.

I know of 5 sellers that got NARU because they charge extra for PayPal. I think either ebay did some checking of their own or people are fed up and turning them in.

ebay suspend them so that they can come back under another ID. This way, ebay user count keeps climbing and looks to the shareholders

Appears I'll soon be joining the ranks of suspended users. After 3 years, all of a sudden billing tells me they cannot charge my credit card for my fees. Told me it was denied. When I call the credit card company, they tell me everything is fine and don't even show an attempt at the charge. No response from billing yet on this. Well, I still have 4 days before they close the account, I'm sure they will be right on top of it.

commentary: It's gettig harder and harder for folks to reincarnate themselves back onto eBay.

In order to sell on eBay now, you must provide credit card information and banking information or become I.D. Verified.

There are just so many different banks that one can open an account with... it's harder to duplicate this information than it is to registered various domains and grab a handful of eMail addresses.

It's becoming more and more important for people to take their eBay memberships seriously and play by the rules. Slowly but surely, eBay is catching up to the repeat offenders.

I'm glad this thread was started.
I was bidding on an item that would have closed in a couple more days. Then yesterday I received an email from eBay that "the auction was ended due to the account suspension of the seller." (Their exact words!)

From what I remember, this seller had over 600 positive feedbacks.

Just seems odd to me that this seller suddenly disappears off the face of eBay.

I know one of the people who was suspended for thirty days and he was suspended because he was selling copies of programs he had personally taped off his TV. Also another bidder on one of my auctions was suspended for selling bootleg CD's. I do remember somewhere back in the last week or so a notice from eBay warning about these two activities beimg against their TOS but since I do not sell Video tapes or CD's I did not give it much thought. Perhaps this is what has happened to some.

Two weeks ago I bought a CD. A week later the seller was NARU. This guy had over 3000 feedbacks! Dont know what happened to him. I received my CD and everything was fine on my end. Just couldnt leave him feedback. Thought it was strange......

bitofagrump-- the same thing happenned to me a couple of months ago. I just made a one time payment with the same card. My account was immediately updated and no further problems next month. Might be the simplest way for you to go.

pumpkinhead,
if your dealer with 3000 feedback is suspended,it could be he is linking to his own website.
he should be back after resolving this issue with ebay

Check the expiration date of your card. You might have to update it, if you have received a new card for the same account. This happened to me a while back.

Thanks for the suggestion, if they tell me it doesn't work again when they try again in a few days, I'll give that a shot.

heike55
Expiration isn't until 2004. Good suggestion anyway.

Thing that made me a bit more grumpy was that the credit card company CSR says it shows on their end when they have denied a charge-nothing showing to say the charge was denied...

Ah well, if it isn't this, it'll be that.
