Hi -- I'm working the weekend and needed to do something while my server was being backed up. For fun, I performed a comparison between three online credit card processors: ProPay, CCNow, and Verza.
ProPay takes $0.35 per transaction plus 3.5% of total.
CCNow takes 9% of total.
Verza takes $0.99 per transaction plus 4.9% of total.
More than two-thirds of the items I sold (1000qty) were under $15.00 shipped.
ProPay average fee: $1.12, 5.1% of total
CCNow average fee: $1.98, 9.0% of total
Verza average fee: $2.07, 9.4% of total
Only difficulty with ProPay is that you have to fill out a web form to submit your transaction request. (CCNow and Verza already have an automated cart system.) I'm anticipating ProPay's "Buy Now" feature though. I heard it would be $5/month for 100 items. Even if I pay $60 a year, that is still a better deal than CCnow.
