I was in the middle of doing listings and I'm spending so much time looking for the right category to place a Vintage child's Bakelite radio style "Music Box"

This is only one item, I have many items I can't find the right category anymore.
Before it use to be easier to find the right category,

Am I the only one having this trouble, I sell lots of different older items, and everytime I go to pick a category I have a problem finding the right one.

It always was easy before, now so much of my time is spend just looking
to find the right category.

I would just like to know, is anyone else having this same problem?

tonimar1,
You are not alone.
With the vast choice of categories, the route to the appropiate one is often obscure.
With this in mind it is extremely important to use good titles and plenty of relevant keywords in your listings, as buyers are much more likely to search for items by a particular word rather than a category.
Good Luck.

Bob, Downunder but never down.

Hi Bob
Thanks for you suggestions, I have been trying what you say, my title makes not sense but hopefully people will find the item, It consumes so much of my time doing the listing, that I loose interest.
I thought maybe it was me only having this trouble. Not that misery likes company, but I hopped to get some suggestions, yours I find to be helpful,
Thanks for taking the time.

When I have an item that I am not sure what category it goes in I do a search on the item. Then check closed auctions. If more than one has sold recently see what category the highest price one was in.

If none have sold and none are running I think it is worth running a good item in 2 categories.

For me, finding categories on Ebay is a time consumning task. I use all the methods described so far. And it does get boring after awhile. I, too, think it was far easier before. And I bid more before than I have been.

What everyone is saying I see I am not alone in this problem. it makes listing
a chore, where before it went fast and easy,

Lots of sellers are also saying there sales are not like they were, I also feel
finding something on Ebay now is harder, even with the right listing words,

I also have been searching to see what category would be better to list in then another, and the time that is wasted, it's crazy, I could have listed 5 items in that time. I do wish categories were like they use to be.........
