OK, this is the first money order I have received from Canada. Usually bidders send cash or Paypal.

This is a Canada Post MO. It is pink and yellow and has the amount as US $. Will the US Post Office cash this for me? Or do I need to send it back and ask for another form of payment?

Thanks for any help!

The US Post Office will cash a Canadian postal money order.

Yes, the PO will cash it for free.

Almost all American banks will charge a fee (mine took it as deposit and added the fee when they found out they had to send it back to Canada for collection! )

Don't send it back, just do the PO.

Cool!

Thanks for the info. It definitely didn't look like I should try to deposit it in the bank. But I will take it with me when I go to the PO today and get it cashed.

Appreciate the info!

If this is your PO's first Canadian MO they might give you some fishy looks!

They can look it up under a reciprcal agreement or something, my postmaster did.

I also cash Japanese Postal MO with no charge.

If they give you too much of a hassle bring it back and we can show you some links.

One more thing- some small POs don't understand this. But your postmaster can call the 800 # on the check and get the "chapter and verse." And BTW, those people at that Canadian 800 have been very nice to me. If someone gets a large CPO, they can call for verification, before shipping.

I guess I am lucky, My credit union takes them with no problem and deposits them in my business account. Does not cost me a thing.
