I had a bunch of auctions end on Sunday, and never got any of the EOA notices from Ebay that day wich is normal.
Then finally today I get all of the messages from Ebay for those auctions, and I have several questions that bidders have sent me about some of the auctions through the mighty Ebay message system two days after the close of the auctions ..It really makes you look good when people want to ask about an auction and you don't respond.

You know, I've got my email address right in my Terms section, even with a clickable link too, and I STILL get people using eBay's mail forwarding system. ???? I don't get it!

Hi aroundtheworldtreasures:

I just got a slew of ebay email from the weekend, including bid notices, outbid notices, EOA notices, questions for seller. It's like some dam just burst on the eBay email server.

Hi mar30,

I'll give you one example of why I sometimes use the ebay "Ask Seller a Question" form instead of the seller's own email link right in the auction. If I am browsing while at work, I can use the eBay mail system to send you an email from my ebay email address which is what I want. If I use your link, it accesses the email application on my WORK PC which would send you an email from my work email address which I definitely DON'T want to do.

Hi Gerald,
Gotcha....I can understand that reasoning. Never thought of that before.

I don't MIND the ebay messages....when they are forwarded promptly. They do include all the pertinent info such as Item # and Title of the auction, since most bidders don't put a description of what they're asking about in their message itself. But my email link also inserts that Item # into the subject line, so that's not really an issue. I'll gladly take emails EITHER WAY, just never understood why people would opt for eBay's service instead of direct. But now I do have a better understanding of what at least ONE reason would be.
